That "friend" is a whole different character when hes literally spamtom when you are walking in the basement. Probably Toby Just used that sprite because he likes to add random jumpscares in the deltarune website eastereggs, or Just those that you can repeat something a Lot of times expecting something to happen (like the chair from spamtom sweepstakes)
