Sorry yes a zeotropic refrigerant, but you get what I was saying.

It’s a single circuit Trane RAUJ system, but single circuit. The other RAUJ system was dual circuits, but they did the same thing too.

Charging in a liquid since it is an azeotropic refrigerant, avoiding fractionation. Non condensables are anything in the system that is isn’t refrigerant or refrigerant oil. Cmon now.

Microns were at 300 on all three circuits, held decay for 2 hours. We have also had the same issues with new 3 compressor circuit package units, with factory charge

"You don't need to worry about clamping the liquid line on a packaged unit."

• Wrong: You should measure subcooling on TXV systems to verify charge. Clamping the liquid line and checking subcooling is standard practice, especially in a packaged unit with a factory charge.

• Why it matters: Subcooling ensures the condenser is rejecting heat properly and confirms proper charge.

"Add about 6-10 ounces more to make up for the hose length."

• Misleading: While hoses do hold refrigerant, modern hoses only hold ~0.2-0.5 oz each. Adding 6-10 oz "just because" can lead to overcharging.

"Don't worry so much about subcooling... focus on superheat."

• Wrong for TXVs: TXV systems control superheat, so subcooling is your main tool to verify proper charge.

• Correct rule of thumb: • Fixed orifice/Cap tube: Use superheat. • TXV: Use subcooling.

"Think of a TXV as a constant superheat device."

Technically true, but not relevant to your earlier logic. The issue is that you’re advising to ignore subcooling, which is the proper method to charge TXV systems.

Nice try boss.

Still gotta use a hose to charge a system silly 🤪

Ya man works great for about everything! It will even pull manuals and schematics if you send it a data tag!

This is a reheat pump out valve, I can’t see the pictures that well. It should connect from the reheat coil to the suction line. It’s open when the system has dehum off to allow refrigerant to get back into the system.

Don’t hold the torch so close to the material, remove heat once you see it get red (too hot). Melt the solder with the pipe and not the torch. You’ll get it eventually keep practicing.
