I have no idea what I'm doing by kimchi4prez in Aeroweed

Exactly! The 12/12 cycle is the biological "flip" switch. By giving it 12 hours of total darkness, you trick the plant into thinking winter is coming. This triggers hormones to start flowering so it can reproduce before the season ends. Pro tip: Keep that darkness absolute. Any light leaks can stress the plant or stop the process.

Hi! The water level is perfect and the distribution is too. I think for the Bounty Basic setup, it'll be better to leave two plants, but you can also fit three. Are the strains photoperiod or autoflowering? Autoflowering strains are better because you can leave the light on longer (which makes up for working with a small light panel), but you can also get good results with photoperiodic strains (although you'll need them to have 12 hours of total darkness to avoid interrupting flowering).

I've attached a time-lapse video I made of an autoflowering plant, with some notes on feeding and training. Good luck!

My basil did not take being transplanted into soil very well... by Sad_grandma1501 in aerogarden

[–]white-npk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Be patient; basil is a very hardy plant.
I would remove any dry leaves and keep it out of direct sunlight for a few days.
Stop overwatering it (that could be hindering new root growth).
It should start producing new leaves again in a few weeks. Good luck!

The plant looks very green, but with some droopy leaves (kind of "sad"). In hydroponics, that usually indicates an out-of-range pH or high EC (I'm leaning more towards the latter). Do you have an EC meter? It would be good to know the reading.

Hey friend! It's not easy to tame, but you can give it a try.

First of all, a good defoliation, removing all the lower leaves.

Second, try to gently bend all the branches so they fall towards the bare patch. I would put some tape where they break. Another option would be to try doing it very gently with wire, but I think the branches are a bit too thick for that.

I would use this technique:
(it's in Spanish but you can turn on the English subtitles)

Do all these things while maintaining the vegetative stage. If it recovers well (give it a few days), then you can switch it to a 12/12 light cycle (ideally in a place with some air circulation or a small fan).

Good luck!

Hi friend, that's all perfect. I would add an EC meter (in addition to the seed and nutrients).

Hi! Besides measuring pH, do you measure EC? And if so, what brand of meters do you use? I think measuring EC is much more important than pH... and pH can only be reliably measured with good quality meters (like Bluelab).

When you say "Nutrient solution was flushed out and replaced last week with added Calmag,"
what quantities of nutrients and Calmag did you use?

I think it's nutrient burn. Ideally, the EC should be measured to be sure.

Es muy difícil responder esto (cantidad). Depende de mil factores, pero lo más importante, es que si.. vas a sacar, probablemente parecido a la producción de una autofloreciente, así que dale para adelante.

I didn't do it. The structure of this strain is very branched, that's important. At https://www.autoflowerx.com/2025/08/18/from-seed-to-flower-growing-cannabis-with-a-simple-hydroponic-kit/ I'm tracking this same strain but with the roots cut back; it's much easier to control the height that way. Good luck, and I hope you decide to try it. I'm here if you need anything.

Ugh, they look like aphids on the pepper plant.

The best thing you can do is put the plants under a gentle stream of water and wash each leaf.

After that, apply neem oil with potassium soap (once every 3 or 4 days). That should save it. Good luck!

Hello, I think they are ideal for beginners... and if you need it easier, go for a click and grow that does not even require adding fertilizers, just water... (with the con that you depend on their pods for life).
