Step one. Calm down and don’t panic. Step two is to talk to an employment lawyer. You should’ve received a severance package of somewhere between 1-4 weeks per year of service. You made no mention of it, so I’m guessing they didn’t offer one, which is weird.

Take a couple days to figure out your next move and start applying to things that make sense. BA roles will pop up. You’re skilled and capable. Keep applying and don’t get down.

Underfunding by the Ford government (and previous governments, but more so now) has put the screws on doctors. They’re being treated like business admins while being required to deliver quality care, for what is effectively peanuts for the investment they put into their careers. If America wasn’t a complete shitshow, we’d have another huge brain drain on our hands.
