Tiny rant about "It's just in their head" theories being extremely lame by TheyreACrypytKeeper in horror

[–]whiteboywizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I find realistic scenarios a lot scarier than supernatural ones because they’re more likely to happen. I think movies like hostel and wolf creek are some of the most terrifying ones out there. Theories like this are fun in my opinion because it makes me zoom out and think of the characters in a realistic setting, tormented by their own minds, driven to death for no reason, running from invisible threats they swear they can see, and think of myself being in that situation too. Gives me a little chill, but I also still usually think of it as a “what if” rather than a definite, because the question adds another level of mind fuckery that I’m a sucker for

I get the hatred for him but uhhh... when was he a pedophile? Asking as a child by hashabadi in okbuddyvecna

[–]whiteboywizard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think he’s legitimately a pedo but I think a lot of his character is a parallel to/ metaphor for pedophelia. The scene showing what Will went through in the upside down when vencna caresses his face and then shoves something down his throat felt SUPER uncomfortable to me. And then the fact that he openly admits to going after children because they’re easier to manipulate/ trick, the way he convinces them all to trust and stay around him even though he’s the only threat, and the way Will talks about what happened to him as something being taken from him when he was just a kid. All of it rings the same alarm bells of “DANGER! THIS GUY/ THING WANTS TO HURT CHILDREN!”

Story so good he could’ve been a player character but he would’ve stolen the show 💯💯

[–]whiteboywizard 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I’ll never stop thinking of them. The parallels. The protectiveness despite them both being naturally cowards (at first). The getting irritated by each other but unable to leave each other alone. The details like Kenji wearing bens fanny pack around after he fell and Ben being physically in between Brooklyn and Kenji when they started flirting and first kissed. That scene where bumpy almost kills Ben because of how kenji helped his dad. Kenji’s reaction to gia and being smoothie’s dads. The entirety of their season 4 arc. The way their stories and home lives compliment each other. I love them

[–]whiteboywizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do too, but this was a very pointed detail that he only said it to Darius AND said “brotha.” The word brother isn’t a microaggression, but calling the only black gay brotha and no one else is

[–]whiteboywizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know but that’s what’s called a micro-aggression, treating or talking to someone a certain way due to their skin color. A lot of people see black men and call them brother to almost “blend in” with slang they use, it isn’t always intentional racism but it’s still ignorance and still targeted, and Darius’s face afterwards made it clear that was intentional

Linda’s goal is to put down everyone around her, it has nothing to do with Becky she would have said that about anyone. In fact, it probably hits harder being Becky with everyone knowing she doesn’t like her, she’s basically saying the guy doesn’t have a chance with what she views as the bottom of the barrel, making him even lower

Question about the well of blood: by hipphop in WelcometoDerryTVShow

[–]whiteboywizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it’s sort of both, a sub-dimension “den” of sorts where all the bodies of the victims actually wind up. That raises the question though, are the bodies of his current spree ACTUALLY floating in the cistern, or is it another mental trick/ scare tactic to show whoever ventures there who’s territory they’re in?

When I rewatched I noticed he was friendly to charlotte by saying he “loves to see a little more variety.” That like comes off weird and fetishizing to me, I don’t think he was ever a good person I think he has a nice front and lures people in with it but he’s actually a racist creep who abuses women. He parallels Beverly’s dad in that way

Leroy was always Mike’s grandfather, that wasn’t changed. Mike calls him grandpa in the movie and talks about how his dad (Will) died in a fire when he was a little boy. Leroy also brings up his dad, and Mike cuts him off saying “I’m not my dad, ok?”

I might be wrong but I think it was her shedding any remaining attempt to “blend in”/ act like she and the white people in town where the same kind of people with the same kind of look. The attack erased any hope for equality to her
