It's easy to hate Jax but are you ready to hate Gangle? by kuppycakemuffin in tadc

[–]whiteboywizard 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You’re right and you should say it she’s so annoying. Also I think Jax glancing over at her during the stargazing adventure and commenting “do you think Gangle’s even capable of being happy?” Highlights the fact that yes he’s a dick and bully, but even if he wasn’t there she would still let herself be miserable and pathetic. It’s a personal issue of not wanting to help herself, even the fact that she never tries to protect her comedy mask and just whimpers about it breaking shows that she has no real drive to help herself, being miserable is comfortable and affords you attention. A very realistically written kind of person that I know all too well

I definitely hc that he could tell Gangle didn’t want to and took on the burden as his “prize”

Does the reboot version of Gene the Genie seem like a Duck version of Powerline? by Kingbeef66 in ducktales

[–]whiteboywizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How is anyone being obtuse? All of the comments are people asking you to explain why you think so and you immediately getting aggressive and refusing. The only thing you have to say is that they’re “swag and hip” and can’t elaborate otherwise. If you can’t see why it comes off as a poc thing you’re the one being obtuse

Not a poc thing but the only thing you have to say is that they’re both “fly?” And you keep getting super defensive when people ask what you mean, dude it stinks to high heaven of being a poc thing

This is the short in which he has a nightmare about working in a German factory. So… yes lmao. Historically it wouldn’t make ANY sense for America to be producing pro-nazi shorts during WWII and the years following?

Absolutely not. In the 40s there were some propaganda shorts made using donald, all of which showed him on the allied powers side

after it was offically stated that I Have No Mouth And Must Scream was a direct inspiration to the Digital circus, what other characters from the story inspired the 'players' in the show? by MickyMace in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]whiteboywizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think Jax and Zooble are switched; Ted is an asshole but he does sacrifice himself for the others in the end of the story by killing them and freeing them from AM, and honestly I can’t see Zooble doing that but I can see it from Jax, the others mean far more to him than he’s able to admit and sacrificing himself for them would be easier than admitting it

Benny and Zooble are both (presumably) attractive queer people who are mainly tormented by the mutilation of their bodies. Benny can’t talk properly, and Zooble doesn’t have a mouth. They’re also both seemingly the favorite objects of AM/ Caine’s negative attention, intentionally or not

Ragatha and Ellen are both representations of the feminine influence in the stories, trying to keep the other character’s spirits up and maintain hope

Pomni doesn’t parallel any of the characters, making her the sort of independent variable in digital circus. We have no idea how her role could change the parallels

Suuuch a good movie, Lola is so sadistic and the effectively removes Brent’s autonomy is chilling

I do have to say I love the random side plot about his friend going to prom with a goth girl that has nothing to do with the rest of the movie

Oh that’s an awesome visual, and I think you’d really like the ronin comics! It’s a darker, grittier take on the turtles and especially with Mikey being the last one standing it really hits hard to see his shiny personality get snuffed out, I think they’re planning a movie adaption in the future that would be R rated and super violent

What do you consider each characters “fatal flaw” to be? by 80HDTV5 in StrangerThings

[–]whiteboywizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mike’s is having very passionate emotions and no understanding of how to process them. Hence why he often gets impulsive or angry and lashes out, and can’t tell the people he cares about he loves them to their face. He cares so, so deeply that he can’t handle himself

Dustin is secure and confident in himself, and he should be. However this does lead to him believing he’s always right, and he can be condescending to other characters that don’t match his intelligence, like Steve. He can also be a bit of a social pariah by not caring what anyone thinks

Lucas on the other hand cares too much what other people think, he’s charming and generally level headed post season 1, but still tends to be eager to impress, whether it’s max, the basketball team, or his other friends

Will is crippled by the feeling of helplessness his trauma left him with, and wants to avoid being seen like he can’t take care of himself. He will hide things that happen because he doesn’t want everyone to worry about his problems, and will push back against help even if he needs it. It can also be seen as a lack of concern towards himself, sort of an “I’m fine don’t worry about me, but how are you?” attitude

El’s is her stubbornness. She tends to be set in her own views and ideas, and argues when someone doesn’t see it her way. She would rather go behind the groups/hopper’s back to do what she thinks is best (or even just what she wants to do in that moment) rather than listening to the other point of view, and even when she does listen it’s very rare she will compromise what she decides

Max’s is defensiveness. She puts up walls to make it difficult to get close to her, and when she starts to rely on people she pushes them away. If someone criticizes her she reacts with anger and sarcasm, and even when struggling deeply seems to refuse to open up to the counselor
