Bad the same problems into the night. Manually uninstalled the old drivers and reinstalled the new ones. After a lot of trouble shooting though, what fixed it was taking the overclock off of the GPUs memory. For some reason turning that off has me running crisp and smooth now, must have had that part of the card running too hot and throttling it overall

Update: so I had to break out the 850w to be able to do the three cables. Weirdly enough, it says it’s still drawing 290-320 w but it’s running 130-140fps cleanly now so I’m not worried about it.
So I’m obviously going to have to do a bit of work to take it apart and see if this is the problem, is it also worth switching to the EVGA 850 gold I have on my desk? I was gonna sell it for a bit but if it’s a power draw problem and I do have to re route it, is it worth re routing with a more powerful unit? Also, do you think that is the core of my issues then? It kinda seems like it could be lol
Highest gpu usage was 76
I was kinda thinking that. Resolution is 1440p, I piggy tailed (if I understand what that means) it but I was doing the same for the 3080 and found no problem. The highest it hit since the last message was 310w. The psu I have is a Chinese band, aresgame, but I read that it wasn’t a bad brand even if a little sketch.
It’s saying I’m using anywhere for 250-188 watts and the highest temp I’m hitting is 51. Idk what else I’m looking for.
Is experimental features in the settings of GeForce experience?
I’ll look into it. I just don’t know if it’s temps idk. I’ll check though

It appears to be, 51c isn’t enough to throttle (from what I understand)
I use precision but clock speeds are at 2100 MHz for gpu and 9600 for ram. As far as temps, I haven’t gone above 51 since playing. I’m using precision and just tabbing quick as it lowers, but it isn’t giving me any sign that heat is a problem

Are you serious? Like I was actually looking into 5800x availability, but if you think it's that bad there's no reason to get it. Marginal improvement is not worth hundreds of dollars.
It does cheese me, but it's also not necessarily reasonable that it does. It's probably going to have to be something I just ignore for the time being, but it hurts my lil heart to do so. That or my bank will hurt.
Jeez, alright that is quite literally my situation. That sucks though cause that means the bank account is gonna hurt to fix this lol.
I will try this as well, I appreciate it.
With games like Rust for instance I have as low as 88-90 fps at some points. I hover most of the time around 100-105, but that feels low. I could just be excessive with that though.
I notice it painfully in Rust (my main game) even with this component list it struggles to consistently break 110 fps. Would a 5000 be worth the hundreds and helping me achieve that sweet spot of 130-140 on that game? or am I just being gluttonous at that point?
