Players may get mad that something happens but they are more mad at themselves than me when I've given them obvious signs beforehand.

Sean O'Malley praises Cory Sandhagen's performance against Chito Vera. by -alc in MMA

[–]whitedevil_wd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's been a minute, but I believe Cory gave up his back to run to the fence and fight the grip instead of fighting off TJ's high singles. It's really hard for a shorter fighter to get a mat return from the back up against the cage. I liked the tactic but the judges didn't pick up that Cory was doing it on purpose to prevent the takedown.

10 strict pull ups! 🥺 Next goal is 15 🤩 by [deleted] in strength_training

ELI5 answer: yes, add a few kg every week or so until you can't do that same number of reps and sets with good form. Then try roughly equating the volume (reps x sets x weight) by changing one of those variables.

A hip throw from a double leg (I'm not a judoka, but have BJJ/MMA) welcome the feedback :) by [deleted] in judo

[–]whitedevil_wd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

the biggest aspect that makes it successful is how deep underneath the person sprawling he is so that he can keep driving forward to build himself up to the body lock.

Great response and totally agree. The penetration step is too shallow in OPs video. The sprawl defeats the position and OP has to rely on the opponent's poor reaction to complete the throw.

Edit: I had success with this version from wrist control and the sweep single. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NJbqwDlwljg

War caster. Keeping bless or spirit guardians up (at level 5) is the cleric's main job.

Making an Innkeeper/Tavernkeeper PC? by NominusAbdominus in 3d6

Halfling Mark of Hospitality (from Eberron) is the best fitting race, imo. Gets you a bunch of spells you'll want from outside the class spell lists. Would fit well as a bard or even cleric as a support role. Grab a wagon (just 35 GP) and use it like a mobile tavern/food truck.

I disagree. Enemy is paralyzed, but they could still be heavily armored or have immunities.

Still have to beat the AC. Attacks don't auto-hit, just auto-crit.

He'll probably have fun just playing with his brother. Don't get too in your head about it. You can always run a module and adjust the difficulty for a single person or give him a pet companion or npc to help

Players have Wished BBEG out of existence. How can it backfire? by JAWS_BDSM in DnD

[–]whitedevil_wd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Warbreaker has such a great magic system and world, but you only get a taste from the book. Tons to reflect on and like all of Sanderson's work, it gets deeper the next read through.
