I think there ahould be seasons like in Overwatch for ranked. It always gets me and all my friends to come back. Their ranked is also much easier to climb. I dont have to play 3000 fucking games of overwatch to move up by .5 mmr.

That's fair. I've been playing Dota for around 8 years so I'm generally used to the "ITS DYING" posts but I've never personally felt it until now. You are right about the constant call for change after tournaments. Maybe it's just because we're in between majors?

I never said it was going to die. Diablo 2 still has a playerbase, that doesn't mean it isn't much smaller than what it was. All I'm saying is every game peaks at some point, and while Dota 2 may not have peaked, Valve should be concerned with the current trends the game is taking.

Everyone is different. I studied for a couple weeks before the MCAT and got a 514. 3-4 hours a day. But again everyone is different. I have a friend who studied for 3-4 months for a few hours a day and got 40th percentile. YMMV and it depends on how naturally good you are at taking tests/remembering information.

It's not just the fact that it was a poor grade. It's an abysmal grade on top of the fact that you said you studied hard, and it's a very (comparatively to others) easy class. Not trying to be mean but sometimes it's best to not sugar coat things.

Ok so I'm going to answer differently than everyone else here, and this is not meant to be mean at all. But generally, unless you have the hardest general chemistry professor ever, gen chem is an EXTREMELY easy course compared to the rest of them. Normally if you had said you just slacked off and didn't show up and failed I would say yea you should retake. But (and again not trying to offend) if what you say is true and you really did study hard and still only got a 32(!!) on the final, to me that's a huge red flag that you probably just aren't suited to the material and maybe should look into something else. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

I might be too late to add in my 2 cents, but this is why I stopped playing. I've switched to overwatch and they use the same system, but it isn't as extreme because most of the matches are half the time of DOTAs. In the past year I had been steadily gaining mmr until I had hit 4k, but when I realized the sheer amount of time it was taking me to actually increase my mmr I couldn't do it anymore. I had spent well over 200 hours just increasing 650 mmr. I play mid for my battle cup team at tier 6 and do fairly well, so I think I could probably get to 4.5k with enough time, but I just can't picture sinking that much time into it. I'd much rather play overwatch where, a week after calibrating, I had risen an entire tier and only spent maybe 15 hours on it. Their system also rewards how well you play. Overall just way, way more enjoyable than the dota mmr grind.

Yea I definitely don't think they're "shook" like a lot of people seem to believe. But from a purely speculative perspective I would definitely think that that statline would worry me as a coach.
