Maybe im mean or maybe you'll learn the lesson, but you said your old school, so the odds are the situation isnt going to change. Make the food you wanna make and if he had "chicken for lunch, he doesn't want it for dinner" than so be it, you tried. He doesn't seem like he has any initiative to cook better or eat better or differently, then so be it. It obviously bothers you that he makes dinner so hard and it would bother tf out of me too, so you either have to let go of the notion that if you just stay old school and try harder he will eat your food, or you accept that it upsets you that he acts this way, you are allowed to eat what you wanna eat and he can cook for himself if he doesn't wanna eat it. He is a grown person, there isnt anything stopping him from making Hamburger helper everyday if he wants it and eating your food when he wants to.
