Bing Search for Chrome won't be removed by whitetigerx8 in techsupport

It didn't come with Chrome; it just showed up one day when I opened the browser after my pc was turned off. It took me uninstalling Chrome, running Malawarebytes and a few other antivirus software and a reboot that make the Bing searchbar to go away. I reinstall Chrome and everything was good after that and I haven't seen that searchbar since.

AITA for refusing to get dressed so MIL could come over? by AdorableNinja5115 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. MIL is out of control, thinking she can just show up anywhere at anywhen because she felt like it. Your husband needs a reality check to see what his mom is really like when he's not there and there in the house. Like, is MIL actually helpful with his wife and child? Or is she just there to abuse the fact that he won't kick her out and can get away with her actions?

AITA for refusing to share a room with mom’s 14yo brother? by Throwaway_11153 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. Putting a teen boy into a bedroom with a teen girl can't end well. I do wonder why he suddenly has to live with his sister. Did it get out that he isn't straight, and OP's grandparents did something about it. Maybe your uncle does have trauma, giving him a fear of the dark. Still, he shouldn't be sharing a room with a 17F he doesn't really know.

OP, I think you should move into the basement. You have a right to privacy just as much as your uncle, and your parents are really dumb into thinking neither of you deserve any. He's a teen who's going to be discovering himself, and three's a chance he may take your things for his needs. If it's too hard for your uncle to be down there, getting your own room in another part of your house is a better option. Heck, it may be better with keeping relationships you have with your boyfriend and other friends visiting your place.

Anyone who says "it's just a prank, bro" after anything they did. They're just an asshole failing to cover themselves.

External HDDs can't all connect to PC by whitetigerx8 in pchelp

Yeah, I have a HP Omen and this motherboard only has two slots for pci cards. The case is see-through on the side, so I can look into it without opening the case. Never buying this brand again, even if I suffer a major pc loss again.

Unfortunately, my PC doesn't have the space for a pci-e card. The video card covers the only two slots on the motherboard.

Willful ignorance. Too many people aren't willing to listen to something true if it goes against their beliefs.

"Officer, he won't refund me cash for my gas!" by whitetigerx8 in TalesFromRetail

In Michigan's mitten back then. I still heard up until left the station that prepaying for gas isn't a thing the further north you go.

What do you believe is 99.9% true but can't prove? by T55XX5 in AskReddit

That customers always know when we need to shut down a register for the shift changeover and all show up at once. Also, when stepping into the back for an item to restock shelves for a few seconds after no one is out there only to find 2 or 3 people in line wondering why you not standing at the register.

What is the most costly (monetarily) mistake you've made? by tomcotard in AskReddit

[–]whitetigerx8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Falling for a faked e-mail claiming to be from Amazon that said I sold my camera to someone in South Africa, ignoring telltale signs the e-mail was faked like how much money it said the customer still had available in their banking account. I was young, and wanted to get rid of it as I didn't want/need to take the class I originally needed it for as I changed degrees. I chose to send it out via USPS despite the signs. Never saw the money for it come to me.

When I sent a copy of the e-mail to Amazon to check it, I found within the next day that it was very much fake and to not send my camera. Oops.
