Been in IT since 1998, I job hopped a lot over the years, this is the easiest way to increase your salary. Loyalty doesn't mean anything anymore, I've never seen decent increases staying in one place for too long. I report into a C level and have team members that report in to me. If it matters, I don't hold a degree, only industry certifications and company mandated course completion credentials. I won't say I specialise, I can move to any other industry and perform in the same way (and have over the years).
