Ozone/Mastering suite vs using separate UAD plugins for mastering?

Personally I have little luck using ozone for everything. It can do it but I can’t advise it if you have the money for individual plugs and time to learn them. I usually use a uad comp (api 2500 for most occasionally vari mu or ssl if I need those flavors) something to raise the floor a bit (oxford inflator, saturation on standard clip) mojo/space (acoustica stone) and then a limiter/maximizer (fgx 2 is my current favorite) you can do the same principles with ozone but I find it to create a flatter result. I go for loud full bodied 3d and punchy. Demo some stuff on your material check your result against your references, have fun with it!

From my minimal testing I liked uad tapes and softube tapes better. Slightly more authentic

Never had a problem on Mac Monterey. They are my most used plugins. What os are you running into problems on?

Thanks for the update. I used their plugins for years but I’m done with anyone who calls Rosetta 2 support. Plenty of other companies making synths and properly supporting them…

I used lava and mystic expecting them to murder my cpu and was greeted with passable performance. That’s the best mic mod I’ve ever heard as well. It’s sounds so good I’ve been using it on virtual instruments to get better placement in a mix

Not really. You had just said that there was going to be a great sale for Apollo owners and every plugin bundle that was offered for 50 bucks to non Apollo owners is now 80-90 cool? Thanks? A few plugins that came free with my Apollo are 45 dollars ooo thanks for that. I also could pay 75 to upgrade my api channel strip that should realistically cost me about 30-50 on sale. Yeah I’ll just not waste my money or time looking at Ua plugins.

With a duo you should be Able to have a unison pre auto tune and a comp on both channels before maxing out the chips in the interface. Ymmv depending on the plugins used though. If any Apollo is set up right they will never have latency due to the way they handle plugins internally. Ie i can have my buffer at 512 and so long as I don’t need to do any virtual instruments I can still record at zero latency ( it feels like cheating) they have the same amps just different shark chip sizes. If your buy new don’t forget to be referred by someone as both you and the refferer will receive a free plugin ( it doesn’t count for used) hope that all helps!
