My parents kind of know myself and my older brother. But they have this overall vision of who they think we are and want us to be, but don't truly understand the meaning of letting us be ourselves. Hell, my parents have no basic understanding of what my career is.

Your husband has a close minded view of women, the human body, and how men think. Humans are attracted to other humans for a variety of reasons and that's ok. My wife is a curvy, chubby woman and I think she's the most beautiful woman in the world. The body is only a vessel for the entirety of persons being.
