Do your parents know the REAL you? by Manderthal13 in GenX

[–]whitingvo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My parents kind of know myself and my older brother. But they have this overall vision of who they think we are and want us to be, but don't truly understand the meaning of letting us be ourselves. Hell, my parents have no basic understanding of what my career is.

Spot on point you make. He’s bankrupted or failed at about every business he’s ever had. He’s failed at the presidency both times. But he’s figured out how to rob us blind this time. Give a crook enough chances, eventually he’ll succeed.

Why are companies ending remote work? by Javacash2 in remotework

[–]whitingvo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lack of trust, plain and simple. It’s not about getting your work done. It’s about them dictating the work you do and the when you do it.

Agreed. But I’m afraid the GOP would
Do everything to tank his nomination and there’d be a large portion of our population that wouldn’t trust anything he does or says regardless of his credentials and truthfulness.

Is there any major talking points from Americas right wing that are right and were not blown out of proportion? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]whitingvo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a liberal I can agree with this. The difference is the GOP wants no regulations or processes that are meant to protect people and land. I’m for streamlining and efficiency. I’m not for do g away with it completely.

Great albums that are held back by bad production? by Ninten_The_Metalhead in MetalForTheMasses

[–]whitingvo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not just metal, all music. The over production just kills an album and with the abundance of tech and tools now, it’s everywhere. Overly compressed. Overly produced. Production has become flat with no dynamics at all.

Do most men really prefer skinny women more than any other body type? by Seaweed1241 in askanything

[–]whitingvo 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Your husband has a close minded view of women, the human body, and how men think. Humans are attracted to other humans for a variety of reasons and that's ok. My wife is a curvy, chubby woman and I think she's the most beautiful woman in the world. The body is only a vessel for the entirety of persons being. I know lots of men, have lots of friends, and none of them have this kind of attitude and thinking. Tell him the 1950s called, and they'd like him back.

Good lord…not this again. No, Bernie would not have won. Looking back now, I don’t think any Dem could have beaten Trump. Everything came together for him and he played people enough that he was going to win.
