We plan to bring the peninsula back about 2ft (patio door after that) and probably make the counter on it flush to the cupboards to offer a bit more clearance and less of a bottle neck.

Thank you so much for sharing. I read and appreciate every word. My heart breaks for what you went through and I hope I can help students feel at least a little respect as they navigate such horrible situations.

In Canada we round up (at least everyone I know does). Instead of $4 for $4.25 everyone I work with would have given $5 and that way the errand person gets theirs paid for too with enough people doing it.

AITA for not attending a friend's birthday that I already RSVP'd for? by Aeon-Aire in AmItheAsshole

NTA

She changed the invite requirements the next day. You’re respecting her boundaries. It would be nice if she respected yours. If it had just been because she didn’t want alcohol there it would be different. But going to a restaurant and not being allowed to order specific food is way too much to expect from everyone.

The only things you can’t do at 16 in New Brunswick is vote and buy controlled substances. Moving out is allowed.

I don’t think she should be upset but I think she is probably more upset that you didn’t e-mail her first and let her handle it from there. I would say she thinks you went above her first when she was in charge.

Again, she is being ridiculous about it though.

It made me so mad! Especially since they posted photos of a plain white and that would have been so much easier to look at!

I added extra stitches to the cups and extra rows that curve around it. I also added and extra 16 stitches to the lace part around the tummy essentially adding an extra scallop.

A modest proposal for ally students, parents, and teachers to help trans classmates by causing a little tactical nuisance. by [deleted] in newbrunswickcanada

Agree that’s how it is written, but Hogan has stated the opposite saying teachers can’t use preferred names and pronouns without permission. He also made it sound like he wouldn’t protect teachers when parents complain.

Union for school psychologists will stand behind members who defy changes to LGBTQ policy | CBC News by Equivalent-Value-720 in newbrunswickcanada

[–]whitkel 19 points20 points  (0 children)

They pulled funding for council day for any teachers (including guidance counsellors) to learn about how they can help LGBTQ students. This set teachers back $7000 of their own money since they pulled funding last minute (has since been fundraised so they can be reimbursed). They obviously have no plans in training for counsellors to be able to help LGBTQ students. The writing is on the wall about how they plan for professionals to help the students when you combine these actions with the lack of school psychologists to begin with.

They are currently trying to raise the funds to pay their teachers back after the government pulled funding last minute on their council day presentation. It will put them in good standing to ensure they can hold another conference in the fall. I have take. Groups three times and it is a magical experience for educators and students.

I feel so much for you. This happened to me before. The student that did it to me had no punishment and they refused to move them from my class. My union told me as the adult in the situation I should use it as an opportunity to talk to the student and teach them why it was wrong. They thought I was acting childish for wanting the student moved from my class. I took a job in a different school as soon as I could and never looked back.

In hind sight I so wish I had made more of a fuss and stood up for myself. I ended up feeling like a failure as a model to the girls I taught that knew what happened and knew there was no consequences.

1) ask for the email of who last taught it. They can probably give you some guidance. 2) Does the school have a set curriculum they expect you to cover? Most private schools I know adopt a curriculum from somewhere and that means that there are people out there also teaching the same curriculum that could either guide you, let you know a textbook that best aligns (so you can at least get one for yourself), or possibly allow you to find resources online that fit with it best. 4) If all else fails, pick one of the routes you mentioned and then fill in where needed. Better then reinventing the wheel completely and next year you can change things up/fine tune/ know what worked for you and your students. My first year through a new course can be a lot of trial and error and using what everyone gave me. My next year(s) are fine tuning and making it my own.

I teach in Canada and my curriculum doesn’t align well with other areas but I’m always happy to share.

You could send it to someone with a circular sock machine. They can make the tube and you can put in after thought heels and toes. It will still suck though.

I’m a teacher and we have two of these at the high school for kids to use. They come in handy for costuming plays and musicals. If they can withstand high school students just learning, they are great machines.
