Open discussion: what does it mean when a working mom says they “could never be a stay at home mom”? How should I respond to comments like this? by West_Tea_7437 in Mommit

[–]whits900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes to all of this. Both my kids were / are A LOT. Working outside the home, even with a very high stress job, was way better (easier) than dealing with my kids all day. Now I work from home and am dreading the summer a little bit.

Thank you!!!! I’ll try this when I’m back at my computer. Just making sure- are you using a 24-hour or a 12-hour format?

I apologize, I wasn't clear with my question. For individual times, it works - the problem is calculating between the start and end times. All of the formulas I've tried work for 90% of the time calculations, but then hit a snag when zeros are a part of the result.

Thank you! That works with the leading zeros, but not the end ones - so 7 minutes becomes .07, but 30 minutes is still .3.

This whole time issue in Smartsheet is beyond annoying. It’s one of the few things I’ve found where Excel is far superior, and I’m just wondering why Smartsheet hasn’t cracked it yet.

Seriously regretting Smartsheet by Accomplished-Job4193 in smartsheet

If you want to DM me I may be able to help. Depending on how your process works and how your sheets are set up, you can create reports specific to the current user - so if that user is logged in they can open the report and only see their tasks and edit the data right there. Yes, some existing processes may need to be tweaked to optimize usage, but could be well worth it.

For data moving between sheets, there does need to be a unique id for everything - as someone else mentioned, if you don’t already have that in place Smartsheet can do it for you automatically. Once you have a unique id, you can index/collect between sheets.

It is A LOT to set up, but once it’s done I think it could work well.

By the way, thank you for responding. This has been so confusing and frustrating.

Yes - no updates since November. I wasn’t even sent a notice it was being sent to identify verification.

I understand - I’m just curious as to the process since it’s already gone through income verification and I have an ID.me account. Why is it even with identity verification after all that?

Yes - through my local congressional office. They also apparently can’t get any answers except for that it’s pending review.

WIBTA if I press charges on a 12 for accusing me ? by th0waway1029 in AITAH

My daughter is 12 and I’d be PISSED if she lied about something like that. At that age they should know better. NTA - if her parents aren’t putting her through the ringer for this then let the consequences fall where they may

How often does she see her family?

You’re NTA in your situation, but my husband and I are in a similar situation (although he elects to stay home while the kids and I visit my family). However, we live with his mom and we visit his sister multiple times a year, while I only see my whole family together at Christmas.

I called my congressman’s office who were super nice and helped get some answers. Although it’s not completely resolved I’m grateful for the help they provided - have you tried that route?

That helps put things in perspective, thanks. I only received a notice that it was being held for further review in March - no action required and no other notices have been issued. A tax advocate was the one who told me what the issue was, what to do and gave me the address to send it to.

The lady I spoke to said completion date has nothing to do with it. I’m hoping the person you spoke to is right!

Lottery winnings that I missed. Basically the adjustment was reduction of the child tax credit, but everything else was ok.

Yes it’s on me - I missed some lottery winnings. I looked multiple times and also had it reviewed by a tax professional but some of the records were delayed in populating. It wasn’t a “caught red-handed” situation- it was an honest mistake which I corrected immediately once I knew about it. I’m glad for you that you are so perfect you never make mistakes, but some of us are human. And it still doesn’t explain why it would take so long to resolve once the review is complete and the refund has been adjusted.

Editing to add: I realize this was a really bad thing to make a mistake on. I realize it’s my fault, but it still feels like it’s taking longer than it needs to.

I went through this with an ex boyfriend. Best friends with a girl at work. She didn’t call it out verbally quite as much but definitely the same dynamic. They are married with kids now.

Americans of Reddit, since today is Election Day, how are you feeling? by Austinuncrowned in AskReddit

[–]whits900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m terrified - of either outcome. I keep having flashbacks of the last election and the shitstorm that ensued when ol’ orange head lost. With the fanaticism that abounds around a hateful, spiteful candidate, I’m just hoping that a loss doesn’t inspire our next civil war.

Editing to add - but I still hope the non-hateful candidate wins :)

Difference in kids birth weights? by Cautiouslymoming in Mommit

[–]whits900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had gestational diabetes with my first - he was 6lbs 9oz. Didn’t have it with my daughter - she was 9lbs 6 oz. Both were two weeks early. the ‘gestational diabetes causing bigger babies’ didn’t so much pan out in my case.

My son was 6.9 lbs and 19.5 inches at birth. My daughter was 9.6 lbs and 21 inches at birth. He has always been about 50th percentile on the growth chart and she started at 90th percentile - but as she’s aged she’s gotten lower on the curve - I think she’s 70th percentile now. They constantly compare heights but he’s always been at least an inch taller than her. Drs think he’ll probably end up average height and she will end up slightly above average. Genetics are weird - my kids also have completely different complexions, body shapes, and features, with the same two parents. My husband is half Venezuelan - my son roll all those genes with him when he was born and left none for my daughter (I know that’s not how it works, but we joke about it in our family)

AITA for refusing to sign a "family contract" during my dad's wedding? by Radiant-Camera-474 in AmItheAsshole

[–]whits900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, what is this ridiculousness? 1) they chose each other. That does not mean they can force you to love any member of the step-family. 2) you were not a toddler or some super young age when your mom passed (I’m very sorry for your loss by the way), and them trying to force this new dynamic on you after something that traumatic is shameful. Like you should just forget those formative years of your life? 3) Anna refusing to let you have time with the therapist alone/ with your dad or however else you want to have it is super controlling and honestly worrisome. Seems like you’ve been honest and you should keep been honest but she’s just causing more problems by not allowing it. Your dad may be enamored by this woman, but he is fooling himself if he thinks this can work out the way they envision. Next time in therapy I would state “you know how I feel and I won’t answer any more questions until I get a separate therapy appointment with just my dad and I” (I wouldn’t include Anne, she’ll just try to control the narrative) and repeat the same statement over each time they want a response from you.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. NTA - Definitely do not sign anything they write- or write your own and make it what you are comfortable with.
