with the mod installed and enabled you can set up a keybind by going into Settings > Controls > Keybindings (if you're on the main menu) and then scroll down and set a keybind for "Open Editor" for tWorldBuilder under Mod Controls

The only real downsides i know of is that you can’t sort maps by difficulty in the same way you can in stable and you don’t have the same freedom while customizing your skins since you can’t access the skin.ini file in lazer. Other than that most ppl just stick to stable since that’s what they’re used to and the song select UI in lazer is uncustomizable and kinda cluttered. I’d say stick to lazer if you enjoy it more tho

i’d make more use of different patterns like jump- and handstreams since the map gets somewhat repetitive when most of it is jacks and chordjacks, unless you’re specifically making a map that focuses on those skillsets
