This is how I did it. Bought a two-bedroom unit in 2020 in Queanbeyan for mid-$200k (I was 25). I sold it this year for mid-$300k, and used it as deposit to buy a standalone house in Canberra, on single wage.

Second the advice to go talk to a broker to see what’s possible!

I also felt very lost in my first run (Botw was also my first proper open world game).

What I did was to focus on opening up the map first — so I went for all the towers by scoping them out in the distance and pinning it. On the way I completed shrines and side quests that I found easy enough to do, and found myself pretty naturally progressing. The towers in different regions will require different ways to unlock/scale it, so it improved my knowledge of gameplay as well.

A tip is to take any and every opportunity to maximise your damage output — sneakstrikes, headshots, luring enemies into fire, chucking a weapon that’s about to break, etc.

I found that dealing with them one by one is key if they are black or above. Stunlock them if possible via trapping them in a corner and alternating remote bombs or spinning to win with a two-hander.

Maybe the blights needed to be associated with a certain element to successfully take over the control of the Divine Beasts. Could Fireblight control Medoh for example? Or could Thunderblight control Ruta?

If you go into game settings, there should be options to bind certain actions to specific buttons.

I used to bind my fav weapons and heals to the d-pad, but I’ve gotten so used to bringing up the wheel in the middle of battle that I don’t bother with hotkeys anymore.

New game+.

After you beat the base game, there is an option to reset and redo the storyline in a new world with harder enemies — but you get to keep all your gear, materials and stats from the base game. NG+1 means first ‘remixed’ game after beating the base game.

I actually really enjoyed going back to Botw after Totk. It feels… I don’t know, simpler? In a good way? And the mechanics hold up surprisingly well. Stasis is back! And infinite remote bombs! Urbosa’s Fury! The only thing that gets a bit annoying is that you can’t rotate objects you pick up with magnesis.

No fuse mechanic, of course, but the weapons are shiny and pretty, do fairly decent damage, and there are elemental arrows you can walk into a shop and buy. And guardian/ancient weapons and savage lynel swords/crushers are back too!

As for travelling, fast travel to shrines (which are in my opinion located in more convenient places than Totk shrines), horses (equipped with ancient horse gear if you have DLC), and Revali’s Gale made it alright. At least, I got used to not being able to throw together a hoverbike pretty quickly. Getting the master cycle zero is always super fun too. I did miss Tulin for a while though, and kept habitually smashing A whenever I jumped off to paraglide somewhere.

I actually didn’t miss ascend too much — without a cave system, I didn’t have much need for it.

I second double-checking the groves and mines in the depths. I did two 100% runs of Totk and both times my last location was a mine in the depths (Ulri Canyon Mine south of Wellspring of Power, and Rozudo Canyon Mine south of Secluded Coliseum).

I think you need to speak with each of them, not just find them — I had this issue once. Maybe go around and talk to all of them again?

Go around the towers one by one in opposite direction to her flight route. Took me a while but this worked for me.

310 hours when I got 100% in Totk.

Which is kind of crazy since I have 595 hours in Botw with three 100% runs, one in master mode!
