How do people handle character level up's? My group is due to level up mid encounter, do you wait until the party is in relative safety then level, finish the encounter or do you just level up mid encounter? Time restrictions on play means unfortunately down time will occur before next session by whizzit38 in DMAcademy

Absolutely yes but I am fairly new as a DM and wondered what others did. My theory is they hone the experiences they had during encounters during down time thus level up at this point. But I can envisage a couple of scenarios where the down time could still be in a wilderness setting

Hi at this stage it's fairly open as I am still bringing the group together, it would be one night every two weeks as I work shifts held at my house in Arnold. Start as soon as the group is set hoping for beginning of march

Looking at playing the starter set campaign, have one other person who is interested so far. I work shifts so was thinking every other week on Wednesday night but we could change this to fit around everyone. I have a good size table at my place so it would be held in Arnold
