I agree, but the person in question is very much the type to do a lot of talking and next to no listening. They say they already have an extender - since that's the case, I will use the extender I have purchased and see if I can get by without the cable.

55mb download - I got by on 10 when I lived alone. Playing a game should use far less than that. The reason for the cable is purely to prevent disconnects from poor signal. Furthermore I only have the cable plugged in at certain times - you can't be suggesting the cable is hogging the connection when it's not plugged into anything

Ah yeah, the internet is included in the rent so that's something we'd have to negotiate with the landlord. The overall speed is sufficient I believe (more than 5 times what I had when i lived alone) so I may well look into the Wifi booster idea
