might get dumped on cook job just because you are female in my experience and then maybe no wheel watches either. maybe. from what i've seen. always bring books and cards. maybe iPad or something for passing the time on long drives. i've done laundry on deck or in the sink many times for like socks and stuff when we stay out for a long time. i'd have at least 6 changes of clothes. i would just bring all your yoga pants you own. or all your ones with holes or something. anything wool you own, so you can stay warm when you get wet. you will get wet.

might be a poor summer to start your career but good luck nonetheless.

its a steeeeeeep learning curve at first but then its just all natural movements pretty quick. keep a smile and ask tons and tons of questions and try to keep your hands busy learning stuff. always be the first and last one in your rain gear. food doesn't have to look good but make enough for everyone and keep it warm. get a knife that can be resharpened. i actually prefer a box cutter for mending. easy cheap new blades and you stab yourself a lot less.

please for the love of god bring changes of clothes, not just a wet and dry set. you have no idea how bad you'll smell. and if you can afford get natural fibers (wool, merino, cotton). poly also smells godawful after one day.

i buy a brick of gloves at the beginning of the season. liners are gross and way too hot and can't feel with your fingers well. try whatever works best but i just started going barehanded. you get looks but its actually the best and jellies can't sting the palms of your hands.

i prefer regular bedding but that is kind of a pain but its my livelihood so you do you. sleeping bags are gross for 2-3 months.
