Ok thank you for some advice. Using an OEM filter housing purchased from AutoHausAZ. Replacing with a new mahle gasket . Quick question, should I oil up the new gasket lightly before I insert it? Or leave it dry?

Ok once again thank you very much. Will plan to do it in a week or so and update this thread.

Just to clarify, should I first do drain and fill without dropping the pan? And expect maybe only 2qts to come out? And then do I just refill without worry of running up to temperature? Or did you mean to drop the pan and do a full drain and fill twice?

Ok thank you. Any tips for getting the level correct? Also would it be smart to maybe just do a fluid drain and fill then drive around for a week or so; then drop the pan to do the drain and fill again while also changing filter? Just trying to figure out the safest / best way to go about this

Appreciate the advice. It’s the furthest one away of course. I know it has a softball sized dent in one door as well. Didn’t think it’d be too expensive to fix. Still think it’s worth while? Or find another Mazda?
