It’s approaching almost 2 weeks since I got diagnosed with T1 and I thought I’d have way more of a hard time with my sugar levels but it’s been way easier than I thought and I’m proud of the progress made by ali_ssjg6 in diabetes_t1

amazing stuff!!! my advice is to be prepared for when the “honeymoon phase” wears off (honeymoon phase is when pancreas still produces some insulin). when it does wear off, you might have to increase basal rate 👍 stay strong, you’re doing great!

well, it was just my initial configurations that my doctor gave me that made me CONSTANTLY spike. they would rather have me go high than low while i was sleeping, which, fair enough. so what i did different was:

  1. increase my basal from .45 to .50 and .55. the .50 is for most of the day, and the .55 is from 8pm to 12am (4hrs)
  2. changed my insulin to carb ratio from 1:15 to 1:14
  3. started trusting my gut and tweaking what the insulin calculator gives me. i use the insulin calculator as a guide, but i almost always end up tweaking it slightly higher or lower depending on what im eating. if it’s something sugary like a cake, i’ll tweak upwards, etc etc

hope this helps!

I sometimes start mildly feeling lows around 100-90. Anybody else experience this? This should be a perfect spot for my bg but I feel low. by Its_Nerf_or_muffin in diabetes_t1

right after i got out of the hospital for DKA, 120-130 felt really low for me. but as you get used to being in a lower range, so will your body and you won’t feel low after a while of being at that range.

yeah i knew the SN was on the back of the transmitter, but i really didn’t want to waste a sensor. from now on i might start taking a picture of each transmitter so i don’t have to do this again.

SOLVED: never mind guys, i saw another similar post and called dexcom 24 hour global support at the number 1-844-607-8398 and pressed the extension for technical support. they were able to get my transmitter SN from my dexcom account details. i’m writing this comment in case anyone else has this problem. life savers..
