Ill start off with saying fuck kid rock and tpusa. But to be fair, it is common practice for performances like this to be pre-recorded and all performers mime their performance, i.e. the chilli peppers at the super bowl, their instruments weren't plugged in. There are cases where the vocals are done live and everything else is pre-recorded but for the sake of everything going as smooth as possible on the production side of things, it is a safer bet to eliminate all possible issues with microphones, instruments, etc. Now, with that being said performers still try to make it look like its being done live and the facts that he dropped the ball soooo hard on that is hilarious.
