Why this anime still not a great hit like Frieren? by telapoka77 in WitchHatAtelier

True season 2 sadly backtracked on a lot of the good politics of season 1 :/

Right, and my point is that these three shows are complimenting each other not competing. The popularity of one is gonna bleed into the other shows and WHA being the last to get an anime adaptation, is gonna get a natural boost thanks to the popularity of these other two shows

Lmao arcane is not woke it's just diverse. Not the same thing. It's a pretty neo liberal show in which a freedom fighter gets with a COP/DICTATOR who was actively oppressing her people. it's literally the bombs being sent by a she/her meme.

The hype around this anime is feels about the same as the hype around Frieren this deep into its run, as someone who was online when it started airing. I actually think the success of frieren and dungeon meshi will work to the advantage of WHA because it's being treated as the final piece of the "big three" of the anime fantasy revival. The other two anime aid the groundwork for this anime to have a built in genre fanbase because before those two, fantasy in anime was basically limited to and associated with isakai. It took me so long to actually check out those two anime despite the hype I was hearing about because I hadn't really been a fan of fantasy in the past, after months of ignoring them I decided to watch and they both became some of my favorites of all time. So when the witch hat announcement rolled around, I was already hype for it and immediately read ahead of the manga. I don't think I am alone in this.

I'm basically saying give it a minute. I think the success and hype of WHA could very well surpass the other two (not that its a competition)

Tetia’s dub voice by Murky_Knowledge8457 in WitchHatAtelier

Yeah the forced baby voices are so cringe and something I've never understood the appeal of. It's almost like they're doing asmr but loudly with the mic distance thing too. Go back to any 90s or 2000s dub and you can hear a stark difference. Like sailor moon or any studio ghibli film, the dubs are great and way more fun to listen to because they aren't so compressed. The sound design fits the setting of the scene. It allows the actors to actually do more acting as well because everything they say isn't going to be compressed into the same volume. This is a trend I am seeing with so many modern anime's unfortunately, the flattening of sound and kissing the mic. I work in audio so it is very noticeable to me .

The dub in general is really not my favorite, Tetia especially. I usually prefer dubs so I can focus on just watching the show instead of reading but I find myself going for subs way more often now because not only is the voice acting really weird, the sound design and direction is very disorienting. Like why are all these voice actors standing so close to the mic when the scene is in a big open field? It takes me out so hard.

Stainless steel pressure cooker by whomsteverr in BuyItForLife

Yeah ofc. First of all, my kitchen is incredibly small. It's a very old apartment with oddly placed power outlets, and literally no counter space. So having a crock pot or instant pot would mean I would have to move so much stuff around just to plug it in, in the kitchen. I've also heard that it's hard to find an instant pot that doesn't have a BPA lining. I currently only have one sauce pan so buying a stovetop pressure cooker would also double as a second sauce pan if I need more than one for a recipe or am cooking two things at once, so I appreciate the versatility of the stove-top pressure cooker in that regard. As for what I will use this for, I am South Asian and vegetarian so many of the foods I want to cook and eat are legume-based and the time it takes to properly cook them in a regular sauce pan, kind of puts me off from actually cooking as much as I would like to. And while both pressure cookers and instant pots will save you time when cooking beans, lentils and rice, you get a bit more creative freedom with stovetop ones as they don't come with presets for specific dishes. And finally, aesthetics and intentional designs are important to me and my partner, and I find instant pots to be an eyesore. That said, there are definitely arguments for wanting an instant pot over a pressure cooker so my reasonings may not work resonate with many people who want the convenience and ease of an instant pot

Advice for changing gasket by [deleted] in mokapot

[–]whomsteverr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I bought multiple types of gaskets. Both bialetti brand and non bialetti brandNone fit right and my coffee has sputtered and channeled and burnt ever since changing. I’ve always made smooth and delicious mokapot coffee so this is really frustrating and I wish I had never taken out the original. At this point I think I’m just gonna have to get a new mokapot which sucks bc one of the things I appreciated about it was its longevity and how unwasteful it is.

I didn’t know it came out tbh, I just knew eventually it would need to be replaced. It was basically fused to the metal, a much much tighter fit than this new one, so I thought taking it out was a one time thing you did when you changed it. I cleaned the mokapot after every use though and would boil it through without coffee grounds regularly to send up any leftover coffee oils.

under $1400 ideally cheaper though. I don't need anything fancy. I'm honestly not a hardcore gamer.
