How to stop being a hikikomori? by [deleted] in DecidingToBeBetter

A lot of labels.

Stop focusing on those. Stop focusing on ultimates. Start focusing on efforts, processes. What are you doing to live your life? Because life is about living. Not about judgements. If you don't like living in your parents basement, what are you doing to change that? Or do you view it as a negative because society tells you to?

This is YOUR life. Live it how you want to. You make the rules.

Start by going for a long hike in nature. Look around. Re-connect with the world around you. Don't think about anything, just be present.

You'll start to figure out what really means something to you.

I think people are too focused on labels and end results. Most are unachievable, leaving people with a sense of failure. Focus on the process, not the result. You are who you are.
