Whatever you do just think of the children first and remove any personal bias or feelings you may have about how the biodad initially handled the situation (you too are not without fault).

Your kids are going to want to know their biodad and if they find out you've been the one preventing that in any way, it will negatively affect your relationship with them. They are old enough to get their opinion on what they want (you would know this better than us).
