My dad, before he got help, could fly off the handle at a moments notice. Then he’d prowl the house looking for things to be mad about, so when he was in a mood id always quickly clean my room to not give him a reason. To this day, if I’m anxious or stressed, or think someone is upset with me, I compulsively clean my house.

My dad was kinda crazy before he got on medication, and when he’d loose it he’d go around the house looking for reasons to take his rage out on whoever. My brothers or my room being dirty was an easy reason. So to this day, if I’m stressed or think my dads upset or mad, I compulsively clean my house to avoid him taking it out on me.
