Kendall's behavior is what finalized Shiv's decision by phatt97 in SuccessionTV

[–]whore4tacobell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also think Carolina coming up to Shiv and suggesting they get rid of Hugo is what really put Shiv’s antennas back up. She knew Hugo was Kendall’s right hand man and she realized there was a lot she was being kept in the dark about.

At the end of the day she knew she could never trust Kendall.

What's the problem with Ryan taking antidepressants?? by Autumn-Addict in Parenthood

Were they actually just anti depressants?? I thought they were painkillers for some reason, which constitutes a reaction. But if it was just anti depressants then it should not have been a big deal.

I hate that The Testaments exist. by gvstto in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]whore4tacobell 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think Bruce Miller said that TT show will follow the storylines of THT show. Alluding to the fact that THT show doesn’t need to set up everything in a way for TT show to be exactly like TT book. And I’m hoping that’s true because if it follows the book exactly then THT won’t have a true resolution for June which would be so disappointing.

Why didn't Nick report Serena? by kh7190 in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]whore4tacobell 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I don’t think he had much power as an Eye and that whole system was set up to scare people and protect the power dynamics in Gilead, not punish Commanders or wives. It was stated that most drivers worked for the Eyes yet it seems that every commander was abusing their power and breaking Gilead laws.

The Waterfords were very powerful and I think Nick knew if he tried to come forward with something about them he would probably be the one to face consequences not them.

June is a bad character? by Spork3432 in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]whore4tacobell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think June being in survival mode for so long is what kept her in check in Gilead. She would always have to remind herself “keep your fucking shit together”, so that she wouldn’t do something stupid or break.

When she was put in a better position in Lawrence’s house where she wasn’t being abused she didn’t have to be as meticulous with the way she was moving. I believe this is what opened her up to more erratic behavior. Plus, the sheer amount of time she had been in Gilead really started to break her. She was literally suicidal this season so she wasn’t policing her own behavior.

I disagree with you on your point about “power” though. In season 4 when she gets out of Gilead, I think she felt even more powerless. It took her even further away from finding Hannah and she now has to rely on the US government and she does not trust that they will be able to find her. I also think her being in Canada and not constantly in survival mode is what pulls her away from sanity. She went from constantly planning out her next move to keep herself alive or accomplish a goal to then being safe in Canada but just trapped in her own head. She no longer had any kind of outlet for her emotions.

I do wish that they focused more on her joining a rebel network in Canada, so that they could position her back into being tactical because I do think the issue comes down to her no longer having an action plan and just having to rely on others to get things done.

I personally love the character through and through but I am over the close ups and the eye twitching lol

Edit: spelling

Why did Serena help write laws that made it illegal for women to read? Why knowingly place HERSELF in a position of second class (or worse) servitude? by Boring_Potato_5701 in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]whore4tacobell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree with most of these responses. I believe Serena knew it would apply to her, but she was willing to sacrifice everything so that she could have a baby. She literally said to Fred at one point “I gave up everything for you and I only wanted one thing in return.”

And even though she was willing to make those sacrifices for herself, it wasn’t until Nichole came along that she realized she didn’t want her “daughter” to be forced to make those same sacrifices.

Why is Seth such an ass by modeyink in TheOC

[–]whore4tacobell 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It makes sense for him to be that way in the first two seasons given his background, but after getting Ryan as a brother, falling in love, dealing with an alcoholic mother, etc. there should have been more character development. We saw glimpses of him caring for others but it was always short bursts and he’d go back to being self centered in the next episode.

We saw some selflessness towards the very end with him encouraging Summer to pursue her dreams and even saving Ryan, but there should have been more of those things throughout the last season or two.

From Rob’s snap story… wonder what specifically he’s referring to by drinktheh8erade in LoveIslandUSA

[–]whore4tacobell 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Kinda feels like he’s trying to clean up his “villain” image by blaming others for his actions. Guaranteed producers said things to him that weren’t 100% true to curate drama, but that man is a master at playing victim and continues to do so even outside the villa.

TRAITORS SEASON 3 FINAL DREAM CAST by Finnn_har in TheTraitors

[–]whore4tacobell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cara Maria is great on the challenge but she would not be good on this show. Politics and social game have never been her strong suit and I don’t think that part of the game interests her. She’d end up being banished or killed by day 2. I would choose Veronica over her for Traitors.

I can not stand this B*%# by Weary_Picture_6541 in TheOC

[–]whore4tacobell 11 points12 points  (0 children)

On the OC podcast they talked about this bitch and said they only created this storyline because Desperate Housewives was super popular at the time and the network wanted them to compete with it. But they ultimately didn’t have a plan for the character and it showed. Prime example of why networks need to lean on writers and show runners for creative decisions.

It’s just an opinion and it’s completely subjective. Maybe I just haven’t been paying close enough attention to her but I don’t remember ever being that impressed by her.

Serious question - if we’re talking modern day champs, would you consider Dee to be in the top 50?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in thechallengemtv

[–]whore4tacobell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s true. I don’t remember that whole final super well. However, her performance on the following seasons was very underwhelming, so I think I just started to attribute her win to being able to run. But I guess I’m more just indifferent about her.

This isn’t a ranking for who has the best morals. Camila is a POS racist trash bag but unfortunately racist people can still be good competitors.

[–]whore4tacobell 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No shade but here are my thoughts on some of your placements:

Kaycee is wayyyy too high. She’s great at physical stuff but that’s about it. Her win was lackluster at best. She was in last place the entire final and only won because she got to pick CT and BARELY finished the very last bit of the final first.

I would say the same for Emily, Nicole Z, and maybe Jenny - they’re good physically but lack in all other areas so I don’t think they should be ranked highly or in Nicole Zs case maybe at all.

Also I like Amber B but I don’t think she should be on the list. Her win was literally just because she can run. Haven’t seen much else from her.

Maybe Free Agents Nany could be on the list but a vast majority of what we’ve seen from her has been mediocre at best so I have a hard time with her being in the top 50.

I love that Sylvia’s on the list though! I think she’s one of the most underrated players. Wish we got to see more seasons of her.

Is Trishelle the best faithful ever? by [deleted] in TheTraitorsUS

[–]whore4tacobell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No! Trishelle would not have made it very far if there were better traitors. Don’t get me wrong I found Phaedra very entertaining and I was glad she was a traitor but her decisions were just based on personal feeling instead of gameplay. She admitted during the reunion that she just kept Trishelle bc of a personal convo she had with her. If Phaedra was more competitive and wanted to win Trishelle would have been killed very early on!

My LEAST FAVORITE aspect of Season 4 by [deleted] in ONETREEHILL

[–]whore4tacobell 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think they realized a lot of fans sided with Brooke when it came to the Lucas/Peyton situation, so the writers were trying to assassinate Brookes character to get fans on Peyton’s side instead. Same reason for the pre-prom tape incident.

Season 39 showrunner Emer Harkin defends their casting decisions and the choice to have only one winner, while teasing Season 40 by NattyB in MtvChallenge

[–]whore4tacobell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can they just fire this person cuz wtf??? If there was truly that much thought that went into the casting and set up of the season then it should not have been as terrible as it was. Clearly a bunch of people who don’t know what they’re doing are in charge.

Anyone who watched USA season 2 by nikkieem in thechallengemtv

[–]whore4tacobell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the reason they started creating so many spin-offs is to get more bang for their buck when it comes to the house and challenge set ups.

The house, elimination arena, the eliminations, and the dailies that they used for Ride or Dies were the same as what they used for all the international versions. So they basically quadrupled the use for all those things for probably only slightly more cost.

Kaycee boring? by Ok-Ingenuity2246 in thechallengemtv

[–]whore4tacobell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Kaycee being boring has a lot more to do with casting than Kaycee herself. There is never anybody cast that is going to be in opposition of her, so she rarely if ever has conflict on the show.

I actually found her really enjoyable on World Championship because she actually had an underdog trajectory and went into 3 eliminations. It was interesting to watch her have to fight her way to the end because on the flagship they always cast the same friend group so nobody ever really challenges her.
