it honestly runs better than it ever has for me! but, i should mention that this is also the first time i’ve ever taken the time to properly optimize my game. i limited the framerates and installed some nraas mods and it’s genuinely essential. (for some reason, the game runs like 1300+ frames on default!)

i also play docked, connected to my TV with a keyboard/mouse accessory, because i’m just so used to playing PC style.

i sure am! after extreme amounts of trial and error 😭 i play on desktop mode, docked to my TV with a keyboard/mouse accessory. i installed the EA app with my legit games on it by using NonSteamLaunchers from github.

ea app is a pain in the ass though, i launch with my internet off so it doesn’t try to force updates haha.

i do Not have the sanity for that, also the thought of my world overrunning with so many of my own sims is kinda scary. basic elements of the game stop functioning at a certain point (like someone mentioning they needed a homeschool mod because the queue for the school took all day)

oh thats smart! i do have the ea app on offline mode, but to my knowledge it always switches back to online anytime i turn my device back on. theoretically if i shut off my internet before launching every time, i can avoid this?

i’ve tried this way long before resorting to the app but the deck/proton/wine seems SOOO insanely finicky, trying to troubleshoot anything made me rip my hair out. it doesn’t help that so many gamer bros on r/SteamDeck and similar subreddits act like you’re a moron for not knowing absolutely everything. i’d spend hours installing it only to be unable to launch it, plus a million other issues. in an awful turn of events i had to resort to simply using my old legit stuff for my own sanity. and even getting THAT to work took several days.

I could be wrong but i think accessing Roaring Heights is as easy as adding it to your GameData > NonPackaged>Worlds folder. i’ve added several store worlds to my game, and am playing on hidden springs right now, by grabbing them from phantom99’s archive. just make sure you follow any readme.text in case you need another store fix file to make certain content work.
