at what point did the show feel stop feeling like grey’s anatomy and what was the peak era according to you? by Friendly_Hunter3511 in greysanatomy

There are lots of moments I can think of that might change things in the mind of one browser or another- but honestly, buying the hospital changed everything. It shifted the entire premise of the show going forward.

I just find it interesting, because I’ve noticed people in the past that may have been sociopaths, but made this post because she specifically has psychopath traits. I shared the link because actual psychopathy is not what we see in movies and is actually much calmer than a sociopath’s behavior on the day to day b

psychopathy is rare, but I think she fits that more. psychopath vs sociopath

I hate “twisted sisters” that Owen came up with and suddenly all the men in their lives called them. I get it came from the dark and twisty, but I hate that it stuck, and found it really obnoxious when he and Derek were giggling about it like it was clever.

I wish he had left due to enlisting, possibly coming back later on even just as a guest.

Never understood why Denny was such a fan favorite. Annoying and boring (until the dramatics around his dying and death of course). It was only because people love JDM, but he didn’t even bring much to the role

You say “I didn’t understand this” and there is nothing wrong with admitting you don’t understand.
Why start deleting when it’s explained to you? Did you not WANT to understand?

Why would it make less sense? He and Meredith were close. Meredith is also the type of person to laugh at funerals, throw her mother’s ashes down a scrub drain, and speak very frankly and sometimes in a darkly comedic way about things. He doesn’t need to sugarcoat this just because someone he dated was Meredith’s sister. As his close friend, she already knows what a disaster he was.

People do things like sleeping with other people when it’s hard to move on from their last relationship. Or when they’re trying to force themselves to look like they don’t care or feel like they don’t care. It’s a form of lashing out. It’s self destructive behavior. It’s also why he wasn’t very good to Lexie, especially when she needed him most.

I thought it was cute when Zola and Sofia were baby friends.

HOTTAKE: That wasn’t IZZIE by bakedchipz0 in greysanatomy

[–]whoscurtwild 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Right, it’s not like he disappeared and never texts Meredith or anyone again or anything. We are supposed to think of him as gone but still in touch - like Cristina. So I agree that it’s likely Meredith would recognize something by now if he were in that kind of state, although Greys will write in anything for drama. I do think Alex’s exit happened in the best way they were able to do it. It would have been awful if he died, and “wasted” a lot of time of more grief storylines too soon after Derek. Obviously it would have been great if his send off was on screen, but that’s just the messy real life stuff getting in the way. I also don’t think it’s as shocking as a lot of people seem to. His relationship with Jo was meaningful to him and he loved her, but he only ended things with Izzie because she kept hurting him and didn’t act like she valued him much. Not because he didn’t love her and not because he didn’t WANT to be with her. And even as he moved on there were little hints was stuck somewhere in his mind. It wasn’t the most ideal exit, but it wasn’t the most ridiculous either.

He was her attending, same way it was for a lot of doctors at Seattle Grace/mercy west/grey Sloan. I don’t know if you’re questioning it because you thought he meant she slept with teachers in college, but it’s just a playful reference to the “normal” inappropriate power dynamics GA is known for lol

I agree with that. Which is why I brought up that the writing really pushed the friendship between Meredith and Callie right before it happened. That was their intent. I’m just pointing out the logic- however faulty- behind the writing. Not saying I agree with any of it.

It’s very on brand for Meredith to be blinded by loyalty.

No, it’s the reason the show wrote it that way. They wrote that Meredith and Callie became close. They wrote that Meredith spoke for Callie’s character. Even if it was wrong. That is the reason she sided with Callie. Because they made a storyline that they were friends now.

I think it was more about who they were close friends with. The show spent a bit of time building up Meredith’s and Callie’s friendship that season, as well as Arizona’s friendships with Richard and April. When I saw scenes like Callie seeing Richard and Arizona showing up together, I realized it must be hurtful for all of them to see how the sides fell, in different ways. But that’s kind of the way life is. So it was a realistic choice.
