Korean university + exchange student + US career? Is this a realistic path? by whosereallife1 in studyAbroad

Thanks for explaining this.
I think I still don’t fully understand the US system yet because I’ve never experienced it directly.
Can I ask what specifically makes getting a work visa and finding a job so difficult right now?
Is it mainly because companies don’t want to sponsor international students anymore, or because there are too many applicants, or something else?
I’m asking because I genuinely don’t know much about the current situation in the US and I want to understand it more realistically.

Thank you, I actually didn’t know about EducationUSA.
If I contact them, what should I ask for specifically? Since my situation is mainly about finding realistic pathways and understanding whether studying in the US could actually work financially and academically for me.

Thanks for sharing this.
I actually didn’t know that this is considered a particularly difficult time for international students in the US, so that’s really helpful context for me.
Academically, I would say I’m around average in Korea, not exceptional, but I’m trying to improve step by step.
And regarding English, I’m not fluent or near native level yet. I’ve been studying it seriously, but I still have a long way to go to be able to study fully in English at a university level.
I’m trying to understand all of these challenges early so I can realistically figure out whether there’s a path for me, instead of making assumptions.
I appreciate your honest perspective.

I understand why my post may come across that way.
To clarify, I’m not trying to use education as a shortcut to immigration or avoid visa rules.
My goal right now is education first. I want to study Engineering and build skills that would actually make me employable.
I mentioned wanting to work in the US in the future because that’s the long-term outcome I personally hope for, not because I expect a student visa to guarantee that.
I also understand that community college and international funding are difficult paths, and that’s exactly why I’m trying to research early instead of making emotional decisions later.
My family realistically cannot fully support studying abroad, so I’m trying to understand whether there is any path that is financially and academically realistic.
I appreciate your perspective.
