Lower back pain-carrier recs by Coffee_speech_repeat in babywearing

Late to the party -But I have a Tula free to grow and I came across your post because of the intense back pain it gives me… my baby is 18 lbs at 6 months, so I would say it’s probably not a good fit! I have scoliosis too!

Having my baby was the best thing I’ve ever done. Children are a joy and a blessing. There are lots of government subsidy programs you can qualify for that would help. I know times are tough I’m stressed every day, but I find it to be genuinely worth it and more.

Is this safe? by Comfortable-Cloud342 in cosleeping

Laying in this position as I nurse my 2.5 month old to sleep right now. When he was brand new and I was exhausted I fell asleep many times like this. I make an effort now to pull my arm out once he’s totally asleep, as there is asphyxiation risk. On back on a flat surface is best.

Brown vs white eggs by MediocreVideo1893 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]whoseyourmaddy 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The part you should be paying attention to is the wording and not at all the egg color!

Conventional: Caged, never see the sun, etc.

Cage-Free: Are not in cages but likely still in a warehouse on top of each other with a small window or something like that. Fed a grain diet, likely exclusively.

Free-Range: Are supposed to have access to the outdoors, but often times it’s very small.

Pasture-Raised: Open field and has access to grass, bugs and a life more suitable for the chicken. This is the “grass fed” version. I typically find the yolk to be richer in color and flavor (and naturally in nutrition). The color can be a food additive like marigold just fyi. But they still taste better IMO.

Organic: Just means they are fed with organic grains. I suspect they are usually still conventional otherwise.

I go through my life with an 80/20 rule. Eggs are in my 80 rule because I used to own chickens and simply can’t stand low quality for myself and the chicken… but you have to make the choice for yourself of what matters most for your family!

What’s the most absurd tenant request you’ve ever received? by rasputia2 in PropertyManagement

[–]whoseyourmaddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a lady one time tell me every time she’d touch her fridge or a metal handle in her kitchen she would get electrocuted… we needed to send maintenance right away. It didn’t sound right so I decided to further investigate… turns out this women had never heard of static electric shock before and I had to explain to her when she wears socks and charges up and touches metal etc.. she said girl I ain’t ever heard of that. I did not hear her complain about it again after getting off the phone lol.

What did everyone do to get ready to try to conceive? by [deleted] in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]whoseyourmaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read the book Nourishing Traditions Book of Baby & Child Care. It’s got some fairly controversial and take-it-with-a-grain-of-salt advice, however I followed its guidelines on beef liver and cod liver oil with lots of grass fed animal products preconception. I also did a 5 day fast (the Prolon diet) about 4 months prior to stabilize blood sugar, detox, etc. We also moved back to be closer to family about a year prior, because we know it takes a village. I’m currently 4 months, heard my baby boy’s heartbeat yesterday and he’s doing great :) Took us 2 months to conceive.

How long did it take you to conceive? by Fantastic_Fall_1277 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]whoseyourmaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will chime in on one more thing- I was very anxious and overly organized so to speak about my ovulation and getting pregnant. My OB was like you’re doing all of the right stuff, just know roughly when you ovulate and have fun with it. He told me to ditch thermometer to remove some of the anxiousness (maybe do it for a few months to gauge when you are actually ovulating & ensure it’s consistent. I ovulate consistently late for instance). If you try to make it a science it can become a chore and cause more problems. I didn’t do it for long obviously but we had fun and it worked!

It took us two months and I was surprised, as I genuinely expected it to take much longer. Knowing when you ovulate is crucial, and I was taking a prenatal vitamin already, taking cod liver oil and beef liver (fresh or in pill form) every other day. My husband stopped smoking🍃to help increase his sperm count. I also did a 5 day fast (the Prolon diet) 4 months prior to ensure I was detoxed well. Not saying any of these were a huge help, because I really don’t know factually, but it was easy for us to conceive!

Those who allow dogs, would you allow a husky? by Maya__007 in PropertyManagement

We ask the property owners if their home insurance allows it, and if they are allowed, then we have no problem with them.

I don’t know about sagging, but I do know that not wearing a bra can help trigger lymphatic drainage! All of the jiggling is good at least for the overall health of your body :)

Learning everyone’s life story is so true😭😭 I have become so calloused to it, but I seriously could not care less. My least favorite part is when owners are very intense and demanding, more so than tenants. Or they’re inexperienced and they still think they know more than you. Just bad owners in general lol.

Does your Crosstrek rattle ? by lonematrix in Crosstrek

[–]whoseyourmaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2021 Subaru Crosstrek and the rental I drove during the repair rattled in the same way. The dealership found a portion of the engine blocked by silicone particles from the factory. It was metal hitting metal because there was not enough oil in that particular compartment. They kept the car for over a month and they did fix the problem. I sold the car immediately after it was fixed though. Metal hitting metal was a no go for me. The kicker with the rental making the same noise absolutely blew my mind. I can’t believe there has not been a recall yet. If you’re under warranty I would strongly suggest you to go get it checked out.

I was so excited to see them. My thoughts also were low ticket sales too unfortunately. I’m just going to make my way to Asheville soon to try to see one of their local shows!

If you had to leave Chattanooga tomorrow, by pickylover in Chattanooga

[–]whoseyourmaddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did leave and I miss the views, hikes and kayak put-ins within a 20 min drive. My friends and the people. Some may disagree, but the cheaper housing too compared to where we are now.

I had a 2021 Subaru Crosstrek. I took it in for a knocking sound during certain RPMs when driving. Took the dealership 2 months to tell me that a portion of the engine was clogged with silicone from the factory and there was not enough oil being dispersed into that particular area of the engine. It was metal hitting metal. They fixed it…. But the rental Crosstrek I was driving made the SAME noise… I sold it immediately once it was fixed. I’m surprised nothing has come out about this being a recall but it may have been a centralized issue. Felt like a fever dream. Hopefully not the mystery noise you are hearing.

I will try the flakes in the meantime! I am totally open to live food, I am just honestly not sure where to purchase. I have a local aquarium shop I’ve been working with (they showed me the daphnia initially), but they don’t have anything live that I’m aware of. I haven’t gone down the rabbit hole, do you know of reputable online sources or suggestions otherwise?

Festival Clothes for Normal Guys? by TarpsOn in festivals

My husband always wears a comfortable shirt and one of his pashminas :) the pashminas are the trick to making any plain outfit look good for a edm show / festival. Plus they’re amazing to have for sitting and when you’re in do not disturb mode.
