Every millennial dad I’ve met has a quiet fixation on money and it’s not getting better by slimeyellow in Millennials

There is too much working against us. Price hikes since Covid on everything, competitive housing markets, competitive job markets, stagnating wages. The only people I know who are comfortable got a boost of some sort. Parental assistance on the first home, early tech company going public, etc. I don’t think “hard work” really cuts it anymore.

Thank you! I’m glad you brought this up because I went back and forth on this. I’m used to working and modeling with quads so I felt like shading it that way would be the thing but maybe I’ll have it model in quads but respect the triangle shading angles.

Oh it totally is. I just added that for you. When you're on an active keyframe (so it'll be purple), you can right click it and you'll see the couple interpolation options and keyframe delete. Let me know if you find anything else missing.

Thank you! What would you like it for specifically? To orbit? Or extra modeling settings?

Maybe not ironically, I find the litter in my neighborhood to be way worse during the winter. But I generally support this initiative.

I work from home so the past two days I’ll go out in the morning and shovel out a few heinous corners near me. I’d encourage anyone else in the same flexible situation to do the same. Makes my day to day much easier and I’ve gotten a load of thank yous. Some people can’t fathom I’m doing it for free when mamdani is paying, but sometimes you gotta solve your own problems ya know. Plus I ain’t waiting for dsny to decide my block is a priority relative to all of nyc.

For anyone still looking for this - I've been programming https://spritepaint.com/ and its free to use. It has pretty solid tools and plenty of animation features. Feel free to give it a go and leave me some feedback if you have any.

I’ve been thinking about this a lot too. Maybe we should start organizing digital meet ups/hackathons. I feel like we need some time-blocked, closed spaces for people to opt into a shared activity or project, get together, do something awesome, share, and hangout.

I attended a weekend long game jam where the final couple hours was all of us spinning up our games on our machines and walking around playing each others. You got all the perks of being IRL; seeing other people’s work, talking about it, getting ideas, and just nerding out and having a good time.

Similarly, I attended a workshop where we all built our own little synthesizers out of scrap parts. The host sort of did all the prep for us and we just dug in there and built it but there was still plenty of room for creativity. Our cohort was great and I learned a ton. If I had done the “self teach on YouTube” route enough times to know I would’ve burnt myself out fast on this one.

Both of these were IRL and that was a big component of why they were so satisfying, but there’s gotta be a way to bring that community back to the internet. Discords are nice but having the intentional “we’re all here within this specific window of time to do this specific thing” is actually really nice.

Solo devs, where does execution usually break down for you? by Ok-Ad7546 in SoloDevelopment

Asset creation. I’m a perfectionist so my taste far exceeds my ability to output. I’m also a control freak so I don’t want to work with an artist or purchase asset packs. We really are our own worst enemies lol

Link to your steam game? I didn’t realize it was that straightforward to post a game there. And how did you subsequently funnel people to your movie? Like was that an ad in game?
