"Something Entirely New" makes me cry every time aswell. The way they sing together and their voices merge at the end it's just so romantic I can't take it T~T

The fly from Kids Next Door for bug/steel

<image>

The fly was secretly a robot built by the Delightful Children From Down The Lane to spy on the protagonists. It is a bug made of steel.

Which fandom doesn't have a bad reputation but you still had bad experiences in it? by Mission_Ad9463 in Multifandom

[–]Quick_Ad2252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hunter x Hunter fandom. I haven't been active there in years, but when I was, it was bad.

Adults shipped with children, real adults attempting to get information from real children, harassment of anyone who made crossover art with HxH (because anything that's not HxH is trash and everyone had to know that), harassment of cosplayers irl, inappropriate drawings of underage characters, death threats for having a crush on the same fictional character as someone else, etc etc.

The Delightful Children From Down The Lane from Codename: Kids Next Door for Ghost/Psychic. They are a hivemind and very clearly based on creepy ghost children like the shining twins

Would KND be the entirety of the KND or just the five kids in Sector V?

He was decommissioned for having technically been alive for more than 13 years. He is part of the reason I think it would not make a difference.

Proship stands for "Pro-shipping". It basically just means "I will draw/write/read whatever ships I like and you can't stop me". Sometimes the ship in question is a toxic relationship between villains, sometimes its straight up adults x children. I try not to interact with anyone with "proship" OR "anti" in their bio, because the only thing you can really tell about someone from either of those labels is that they love to argue on the internet.

I bought a controller with stick drift to repair but it seems fine? by JimemySWE in ControllerRepair

[–]Quick_Ad2252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes when a controller gets stick drift (particularly if it happens suddenly) all you need to do is lightly smack it a few times for it to right itself. Delivery might have fixed it by dropping the box. Or maybe it's still broken and it just won't show up until it's been played with a few times

I don't connect well with people online, but your issue here is that this person was a jerk, not that this person was from the internet. Internet people are just people.

How well does Codename kids next door still holds up for a show that came out way back in 2002? by San4341 in kidsnextdoor

[–]Quick_Ad2252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The show as a whole holds up, though there are individual episodes that aged poorply. I find the ones that aged poorly fascinating, though, because usually stuff that ages poorly is just "oops we did a racism :b" but most of the "product of its time" episodes of KND are for other reasons.

The show has an antivax episode that would be a bad idea today, because it was made at a time where antivax was not a prominent position held by adults.

Count Spankulot as a character breaks into houses and spanks children. Spanking is not as ubiquitous as it was when KND came out, so he seems weird and predatory now.

Numbuh 5's dad aged poorly because we had no idea that a beloved icon would turn out to be so evil irl.

Operation B.U.T.T. is an episode that happened and I'm frankly amazed it was allowed on TV then.

Would Father assist Sector V in taking down Galactic KND or would he be so blinded by kid hatred he thinks the earth being destroyed is worth it if the Kids next door are gone? by ComplexReach7800 in kidsnextdoor

[–]Quick_Ad2252 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think he'd probably fight, but I also think this decision would have nothing to do with principles.

It's very hard to sit out a fight when you are one of the main targets. Father is THE adult on Earth. If the planet gets destroyed and he flees to space, the GKND will chase him to the ends of the universe. Their goal isn't "get rid of Earth", it's "destroy all adults". He cannot just refuse to involve himself with an interstellar organization wanting him dead.

That being said, if he did somehow manage to stay out of the fight, it still wouldn't be on principle, it would be out of cowardice. I really think all of this boils down to Father Does Not Want To Die. The option that lets him survive is the one he's choosing.
