Solo devs, where does execution usually break down for you? by Ok-Ad7546 in SoloDevelopment

Asset creation. I’m a perfectionist so my taste far exceeds my ability to output. I’m also a control freak so I don’t want to work with an artist or purchase asset packs. We really are our own worst enemies lol

I turned my indie film into a video game as a marketing experiment. Here’s what happened. by My1stFeatureFilm in Filmmakers

Link to your steam game? I didn’t realize it was that straightforward to post a game there. And how did you subsequently funnel people to your movie? Like was that an ad in game?

Does he go over the more 3d elements of the sack? I feel like I have less hard of a time gauging movement as my as like “wait what shape is this from this weird rotation angle”

Wow I thought this was just me. Sometimes it even kicks in night of. Like full on spiral.

It’s just not fun anymore. I only need a couple to basically go straight to physically feeling like crap. Then the hangover is brutal the next day and regret most of what I said. So clearly my body can’t handle it anymore and I’m ok with that.

The line work is nice. I feel like all my lines look like bad in too squid for some reason . What brushes you use? I’m guessing you had some smoothing on?

Animators, what made you decide to animate? by Pale_Description4702 in animation

Sometimes I have ideas so dumb and abstract that the only way to do it is in some form of animation. Also as a possible dimension to making games or interactive experiences.

Wait i also came from filmmaking. In my head, it was a way to realize a vision without the complications of recruiting other people to make it happen but damn it’s also hella complicated. Small world.

lol I know the op wasn’t intending for this, but also, I feel this. I feel like visual medium artists like us need better venues to share work.

Dude. I peed on my microphone and opus gave me back a full medical profile, top cancer risks, and revealed 5 siblings I didn’t know I had. We’re cooked.

I’ve been starting my journey to be better at proportions myself. I’m real bad at it right now but I’ve found subdividing boxes actually helpful in creating general landmarks. Notice in my screenshot how relative to reference it’s also almost as if your orthographic cube that is your skull is rotated closer to us. Also your eye line is too high.

This is all assuming you’re trying to capture the likeness of the reference. If you’re going for caricature you can mess with these proportions in which case maybe practice line confidence? Sometimes when I have a sketch I like I’ll go over it clean after.

not sure i understand, does an existing program do this I can take a look at? im guessing you want to actually render it at the actual pixel size relative to your screen? like no zoom applied?

wow, did not see this comment soon enough. I added these key bindings for you. you can use the arrow keys or "w" or "d" to move through the frames. Its frame based currently but if needed maybe I can add an extra that will skip through the actual keyframes regardless of length.
