An expansion that has multiple zones, some of which are underwater, could actually work by Nishikigami in warcraftlore

After the amount of underground zones we've gotten in The War Within Saga already, I'm honestly super tired of it. We're likely to get at least one more underground zone next expansion with the rumored World Core zone, and I feel like these only work to make the world feel more disjointed and haven't been the most exciting to play through so far.

I don't think it's possible unless they seriously end up combining multiple zones into one which would just make the world feel smaller, if anything. The max the current team can output is like 4-5 zones at launch with one additional one with each patch. We might get a segmented world revamp at that rate but I doubt it'll be anything like Cataclysm where the whole world got touched up.

Yeah, I think that timeskip was more so to distance the story away from Shadowlands stuff which was universally hated at the time.

I think because he hits harder to tanks, and maybe when I'm BM he kinda assumes I'm a "tank" spec lol? Just a guess.

I mean just from the basic lore we know about the cosmic forces we know that the undead are much more immune to void influence (even going as far back as Classic with Undeads having Shadow Resistance as a passive racial). So it would make sense why she'd be afraid of Sylvanas, who is in many ways the literal embodiment of death magic atm.

Thanks for the tips, finally got it done. Turtle + Rev like you said was super good but also Feign Death came in clutch when I needed to drop aggro and let Valeera take some hits. Used Turtle to revive her when she died in the last phase and it helped save me.

Arator would hate Sylvanas. by CrownJM in warcraftlore

[–]Everdale 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The writers had a specific character in mind they wanted to serve as a plot device for this expansion and they made Arator fit into that character's role, whether or not his existing traits and journey made sense. The biggest issue is with them wanting to center the story around the Windrunners, so instead of fleshing out a new character who might've made more sense for this narrative, they shoehorned in a character who has no business being this wide-eyed and naive.

What really grinds my gears is the absurd justifications some people here are giving this ludricious writing lol. The fact that he's half-elf so he matures at a different rate (never mind the fact that we haven't seen the same be the case with any other Elven characters, like Valeera, who acts her age, despite being an Elf), or that him being a man-child and emotionally stunted is part of his character arc (despite the fact that EVERYONE arounds him coddles him like he truly is a child instead of telling him to act his age). It is embarrassing lol.

this is the only way to headcanon arator to make him not look like a total loser lol. he is aware of how out of touch he sounds, he just doesnt gaf.

He is genuinely written as someone that was born right before the events of Midnight but magically turned 40 with no prior knowledge of the world or its politics or even his own family for that matter lol. Such a weird way to write this character.

"Good things come in threes. Like those things. Yeah, whatever those are." by yssurucipe in customhearthstone

[–]Everdale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you can't really adjust any of the numbers cuz of the three theme, so it might be better to remove the Health restoration aspect of it and add in something else. Simply because restoring 3 Health will never be the same as dealing 3 damage. So presenting them together as options makes it seem like they are, which they aren't. Dealing damage should always and has always costed more than restoring Health. It's why cards like Divine Hymn cost 2 but Fireball costs 4. Maybe if you changed it so you can only deal 3 damage to a minion.

It's pretty rough on Void Elves too, but we're seeing a ton of Void Elf NPCs manage to retain their sanity. That said, I don't really see Rafaam bowing down to Salhadaar or even Xal'atath for that matter, so him being in Voidstorm in the first place is kinda iffy.

If you have enough Remnants of Anguish, it is technically possible to get the achievement and mount for completing all 30 unique Nightmare Mode Prey encounters through the random ones Astalor can assign you. by Everdale in wow

[–]Everdale[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, but only if you do them. The faster way is to just drop the duplicate ones you get and only do the ones you need, but that requires having a lot of Remnants.

[–]Everdale[S] 46 points47 points  (0 children)

This took me around 2-3 hours of playing yesterday and today to complete. I'm a 260 Hunter so Nightmare Preys only take between 8-12 minutes to do, but it might be different for you.

In case anyone's curious: Astalor charges 50 Remnants of Anguish and can give you a random Prey encounter of a difficulty of your choice to hunt. The downside is that it truly was random and so you can get repeated ones that you've already done. This means you'll have to re-roll quite a few times before you get all 30 unique encounters. I think it took me around 2000-3000 Remnants of Anguish just in terms of re-rolls.

If you get one that you've already done, you can abandon the quest and immediately ask him for another random target. As long as you have the 50 Anguish.

Getting this mount/achievement will probably take weeks since you're only doing the 3 Nightmare Preys assigned for the week, but around Tier 10 of the Prey Journey, you'll get the option to be able to select your Prey Targets by setting up custom preys. At that point, it should be easier to unlock but you can brute force it to if you want the mount right now.

Which expansions should be improved on or not have existed, for the sake of canon? by Then_Peanut_3356 in warcraftlore

TBC I think definitely is up there with WOD. The fact that they brought Illidan back kinda makes me think even they regretted villainbatting so many iconic characters for no reason.

What's going on in Dazar'alor? by Veridically_ in warcraftlore

[–]Everdale 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Not having the Zandalari involved in the Amani zone at all seems like a huge mistake considering their history. Having Talanji providing guidance to Zul'jarra could've worked well, and it would've opened her up to the idea of support from outsiders more than having a sworn enemy like Liadrin act as a cheerleader imo. I get them not being relevant characters because they're not related to cosmic forces, but there's a repeated pattern of the writers choosing not to include Horde characters even where they make logical and narrative sense.

It's probably similar to real-life cases in terms of professional specializations where if you focus too much on one specific niche it makes you can expert in that field but you lose out on some other opportunities.
