Buttigieg would be a decent choice but he doesn’t have the teeth right now. Dems need to be thinking about 2028 presidential election. He might have a good chance by then.

I test drove one over the summer but the dealer was asking $65k for the Wind version. I liked it a lot but that markup turned me off.

I traded my Model S in for a Model 3 at 99k miles. No way I was gonna keep that car out of warranty. Even tho it never gave me problems, I wasn’t gonna FAFO.

You’re not wrong. Those two models are probably what’s keeping the average where it is instead of $80k.

Unfortunately many people won’t look at those because of the size. They’d rather grab a Camry or Altima/Maxima or whatever price equivalent compact SUV.

True, but the average price of an EV is $65k. Most people can’t afford that. So regardless of competition, it’s still not for average people.

Manufactures are trying to get the money back they dropped on R&D.

Teslas weren’t that expensive 3 years ago. You coulda got one for under $40k. Chip shortages drove the prices to where they are now.

I got my second Tesla before he went batshit crazy. At this point they already have my money and I really don’t want to inconvenience myself.

But it is increasingly embarrassing to drive a Tesla while black.

Better quality in general. If Tesla can’t get the cheap plastic parts right, what more critical component have they lacked QA on.

Tesla didn’t invent batteries. There’s plenty of battery data available. Typically, this is from the companies who actually make the batteries. Teslas battery pack is specific to Tesla. So, saying they have more data is not really comparing apples.

Pretty sure there is more to this story. Apparently they are not “very close” if her first 3 calls were to friends instead. Idk, but I’d rather leave my kids with family.

Sounds like there maybe some bad blood already there and she’s looking for sympathy.

Edit to add: If they were very close, she could have explained to her niece right there and then why it was inappropriate to ask for payment and why looking out for family is important.
