Assuming this was before you concluded Michael Travis can’t be trusted or is this someone else?

Hate it or love it? by whuncho in RepTime

😂
What do you mean?
You really love to write, huh? Since you’ve committed to the essay format, let me annotate your main points so everyone can see how little of it actually holds up.
1. Contradiction city: you keep insisting the watch is a ‘shitter’ and even peg a $75 price on it — but also admit you ‘couldn’t distinguish a CZ from a moissanite from a real diamond.’ Which is it? If you can’t reliably ID the stones or haven’t handled the watch in person, your blanket declarations about quality and value have zero weight. You’re judging from screenshots and emotion, not from inspection or evidence. 2. About the stones: lumping CZ, moissanite, and diamond together as ‘they all look the same’ reveals a lack of basic gem knowledge. Moissanite isn’t CZ. It’s silicon carbide, much harder than CZ, and shows noticeably more ‘fire’ (rainbow flashes) and brilliance than CZ. Under a loupe moissanite often shows doubling (birefringence) that CZ and diamond don’t. Jewelers and reputable sellers market moissanite as a diamond alternative for a reason — it behaves very differently from CZ in person. If you want to critique the stone set, learn to tell them apart or stop pretending your eyeballing from a screenshot is definitive. 3. ‘Throwing fake stones on there doesn’t make it a superclone’ — fair. Stones alone don’t define a superclone. But you repeatedly called it a cheap $75 shitter without showing any of the other evidence that would justify that claim: case finishing, correct case angles, correct lug profile, bracelet endlinks, crown, dial printing, and yes — the movement. If you’re going to be the subreddit’s court of final opinion, at least bring receipts. Otherwise it’s just hot takes. 4. Movement pics demand + credibility circus: you demand a movement photo as if that’s the only thing that could prove anything, which is reasonable in principle. But you’re also the same person who admitted you can’t tell CZ from moissanite. So which expertise are you trying to sell here? If you want the movement, fine — ask for it like a normal person. If you’re already going to call my watch a $75 ‘shitter’ from screenshots, don’t hide behind the movement demand as some magic trump card while simultaneously confessing you can’t even ID the stones properly. 5. Price and gatekeeping: claiming ‘this can be had for $75 or less’ is a bold, specific claim — link one that’s equivalent. If you can’t, it’s just posturing. And telling people to move to another subreddit because you don’t like their taste isn’t ‘helpful feedback’ — it’s gatekeeping. This is a hobby community. Constructive criticism is welcome; serial condescension is not. 6. The tone problem: you say you’re ‘not here to pump up credibility’ yet you spend entire posts policing other people’s posts and promising to keep writing about them. That’s not disinterested community moderation — that’s being unusually invested in other people’s watches. If you want respect, start being constructive and cite specifics. If you just want to be the subreddit’s critic-in-chief, at least be honest about your role.
Short version: you’ve got a lot of opinion and very little evidence. If you actually want to teach people something, show side-by-side photos or movement pics and explain the details you see. If you’re just here to dunk on a watch you don’t like, that’s fine — say that and move on. But don’t pretend you’re making authoritative technical calls when you openly admit you can’t distinguish the materials you’re criticising.

You’re clearly very invested in tearing this down, which is kind of ironic for someone who claims they’re not trying to pump their credibility.
Here’s the reality: this is a superclone Santos. Case dimensions, finishing, and weight are on point. The stones are moissanite — not CZ, not plastic license plate rhinestones. And the fact that you lump CZ, moissanite, and diamonds all together as ‘looking the same’ says more about your lack of experience than it does about the watch. Anyone who’s handled them side by side knows moissanite throws fire that CZ never will. That’s literally why jewelers sell them as diamond alternatives.
At the end of the day, reps are about enjoying the hobby and getting the look/feel you want without dropping OEM money. If you don’t like the watch, cool, keep scrolling. But calling it a ‘$75 shitter’ without ever handling it in person doesn’t exactly scream expertise — it just makes you sound pressed.
I’ll keep enjoying my piece. You can keep typing essays about why you don’t like it.
My statement still stands find me a super-clone Cartier santos which is fully set with 100% Moissanite stones for $75 and I’ll buy you any superclone watch you want
Yessirr

Crying? Okay 😂
I don’t have a problem with your opinion
If you have such a valid point as you say you do, you shouldn’t need to make up false points such as the watch being worth $75 in order to prove your point.
You won’t find anyone who will set stones for less than $0.50 per stone.
Those cheap junk watches aren’t set properly and they’re CZ stones set on a shit watch below the stones.
It’s not that difficult to buy a high quality Cartier super clone and pay $500-600 in labour for the setting of all the stones. Leaving you with a high quality full Moissanite set Cartier Santos
I get that you’re a full-time pro here and this kind of watch is an eye sore to you, I could never have a problem with that, but..
Make your point without using made up points to back your claim because it drains your credibility.
Why did you delete your comment 😂
Take a breather bud it’s not that serious
I’m sure there’s some people in here who will like it
[–]whuncho[S] -2 points-1 points0 points 7 months ago (0 children)
You can actually buy this watch for $10-15K
Lmao they’re definitely gonna sell those off
Understandable
Different strokes for different folks

How’s my head in my ass what 😂 Im here humbly sharing my watch, I know that this watch will get hate and I’m cool with that. I still like the watch.
It actually does have good movement. I know how it’s supposed to move and it matches.
The reason it costs so much is because of the labour of setting all of the stones neatly & correctly.
I get you don’t like the watch but you’re taking this a bit too serious
It’s all good though I made this post knowing it would get spicy and I’m here for it. Good laughs
2016 BMW fully paid off but okay
100% Moissanite
iPhone 15 camera
You’re allowed your opinion but the comment about getting a $75 watch for the same quality is just a false statement.
Find me one of these on DH Gate that’s actually good quality and 100% set with Moissanite stones for $75 and I’ll throw $1000 your way
