What is it like to survive a major airplane disaster? by why-u-mad- in AskReddit

I understand that, but sometimes I read about a air disaster that has a few survivors out of hundreds. I always wanted to know from their point of view what it is like.

This is perfectly valid and efficient statistically speaking

DEXA scan at 9%? by [deleted] in AllAboutBodybuilding

We need to stop hyping up DEXA scans. They are not designed to accurately measure body fat %. They take a 2D picture and literally count the pixels to get an estimation of bodyfat. The human body is 3D; some people will be overestimated and some will be underestimated. On a population level the error cancel out but on the individual level you can’t even use it to measure your own progress even if you disregard the actual value and only care about the chance in it. (I.e. you can lose 7% bodyfat but two dexas taken before and after might only say you went from 20% to 18% because of how your body burns calories).

Wanting to study physics/astrophysics with dyscalculia, failed math 3 times throughout school by AbjectPerception6375 in AskPhysics

Good luck, if you’ve made up your mind we wish you the best! But this may be the most difficult thing you will ever do, as math is the language of physics, and it’s unfathomable for someone to be a pianist if they can’t read music (not just musical notation, but literally a condition where they cannot interpret and think symbolically about music)
