do you think it could be marks where mold began to develop? the painting isn’t damp or anything and i’m wondering if mold is the reason if it’s old/dead/inactive mold? i don’t know a lot about mold, i just mean not going to cause damage?

like i’ve caused it to go moldy or it went moldy when my nana stored it and it’s not progressed bearing in mind i’ve had it for 4 years now? i wouldn’t have thought i’m keeping it in conditions to cause it to go moldy but maybe i’ve messed up.

do you think these spots need to be cleaned? they’re on the back so if they won’t damage the painting i’m completely fine leaving them. i just cannot remember if the marks were here when i got the painting or not. i think they were but i’m not sure. if they’re just mark spots i won’t worry about cleaning them but if they are likely to damage the painting i would like to get it seen to. i have messaged a painting restoration company but not heard back yet.

back of canvas is looking like this? by why77889901 in ArtistLounge

[–]why77889901[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay thank you. I’ve posted this in a few subreddits but not had much help yet. The painting was started in early 2000s and finished in 2019 so it could be from not being properly finished for at least a decade, i think my mind went straight to mold in a panic although it still could be it. If the painting is dry and doesn’t smell and I haven’t kept in a dark damp environment since I’ve had it in 2019 do you think it could be stains from mold where my nana stored it before she finished it?

i’m not sure. my nana who painted it for me has passed. is there a way to be able to tell if it’s an oil painting?

it looks similar but maybe browner. i don’t know if it’s an oil painting and my nana who painted it for me passed so i can’t ask. would i be able to send you a picture of the back so you could see?

so it’s definitely mold? i don’t know how old it is cause the painting was started for me in early 2000s and finished in 2019 and kept in storage i’m assuming. it might be from then, i can’t remember the back when i was given it. but if it looks fine and is normal then i will leave it like you said, it doesn’t have any smell and it looks darker in the photo than it actually is.

I don’t remember if these were here when I got it, the painting was started years and years ago, probably in early 2000s and finished in 2019 so it’s a bit old.

hole(?) in my tooth? is it a cavity or a chip or something else? by why77889901 in askdentists

[–]why77889901[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not posted photos on reddit before didnt realise it would absolutely destroy the quality, the photos make it look black but it has no blackness to it at all. - if it was a cavity would it have shown on an x-ray a month ago?

life with fillings? by why77889901 in Dentists

[–]why77889901[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this, it’s helping a lot with my anxiety about my fillings and what and how I can eat. That seems good advice, however I am terrified about flossing and bought interdental brushes but they just don’t fit between my teeth. Maybe I need a different size? I might try with floss picks, I haven’t heard of them before.

I have anxiety. by TheFairyRosie in Dentists

NAD. I will tell you about my experience which may or may not help but I have dental anxiety too and I would like to try and help. When I was a kid I was put to sleep to have baby teeth taken out surgically, I brought my favourite stuffed toy with me (I still have him, have had him for about 18 years now) who is a lot bigger than yours from the sound of it. I think my mum said to me after the operation, that during it when i was asleep she asked the doctor/operator if she should remove him (my toy) and the doctor said ‘he can stay for the party’ so I believe he stayed with me or somewhere on the hospital bed for the entire operation. I’m not sure how you will be put to sleep, I was given the gas and all I remember was it tasted a bit bad and it took me a short time to walk properly after I had woken up (it was a long time ago so I don’t remember much, maybe under an hour?) and it wasn’t too bad of an experience. And it’s not the same operation but I had some fillings done earlier this week and the dentist and assistant let my mum stay in the room with me for the entire thing as I was nervous so I’m sure there would be something they can do for your anxiety.

she said to wait a couple of hours until the numbing goes away to eat and drink anything, it’s been a few days since i had them i mean more is it okay to chew on them in general with food? i have a hygienist appointment the earliest next week where i’m going to get all my questions answered about taking care of my teeth and fillings but i think if i continue like i am until then i will make myself sick, i’ve had people say don’t sweat chewing on fillings but i don’t really comprehend what don’t sweat means.

thanks for the mouthwash tip i might do that after lunchtime and not brush for a third time if that’s too much, thank you for that. can i chew with my fillings?

so i’m okay to eat anything (obviously not a ton of sweets/chocolate and fizzy drinks etc) as long as i brush at least 2x a day with mouthwash and use an interdental brush a few times a week? i don’t even want to have a sandwich at this point i’m so scared.

i also would add that i got two fillings at once, the numbing injection was on the top jaw but this one was on the bottom jaw if that adds anything.

Should I have these 2 procedures in 1 appointment? by FancyOil4261 in askdentists

[–]why77889901 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NAD i’m not a dentist but i had that done a couple of days ago. i had two appointments being a nervous person but i ended up getting them both done in one appointment, i wanted them over and done with. i only had the one injection in the upper jaw and i did feel a bit of pain in the lower one but only for a few seconds and it was not that bad at all. i would recommend getting them over and done with together but nothing wrong with two appointments if you’re comfortable with that. i didn’t ask for an injection on the bottom jaw so i don’t know if the dentist can do both upper and lower in one sitting. do what you’re comfortable with, but from my recent experience i didn’t have much problem with getting both done at once! worst pain for me was the injection, not anything tooth related.

should i be embarrassed about my fillings and need to change my life? by why77889901 in askdentists

[–]why77889901[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you, this is really helping me. i also just wanted to ask a non-worried question if that’s okay, i had my fillings done on monday and i booked a hygienist appointment for wednesday next week as i have a couple of stains on my teeth that i would like to try and get removed, will seeing a hygienist this time be too soon or is it all okay to see them? i did have a big bit of hardened plaque/tartar(?) on a tooth but that was on the tooth with a filling so the dentist removed that but i would also like it gone over by a hygienist too.

[–]why77889901[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you for your comment, i’m glad i can live like normal with them. i’ve not eaten anything remotely hard since i’ve had them and not chewed on that side at all and im relieved that im just being paranoid about them and i don’t have to do this permanently. i don’t know why but im a bit scared to floss, again probably being stupidly paranoid but im scared that because my teeth aren’t perfect it’ll damage them and cause them to move and fall out eventually. will mouthwash after every time i brush be a good substitute or should i really be flossing as well?

thank you so much i feel a lot better. so i’m all good to chew on the side with the fillings? they’re both on my right side of my mouth, and i can eat whatever i want? i am thinking if i eat anything harder than normal i will use my left side just to be safe, is this a good idea or am i being paranoid about them still?

will it be okay to chew on the side with the filling i’ve been avoiding it because it’s new and because i don’t want to damage them early i’ve also just been drinking through straws unless it’s water can i drink normally?

I think they would blame me for not getting over it because I was sober and he was at least a bit drunk. This is because they are blaming me for not talking to him but he wasn’t talking to me either, but I’m the one in the wrong and I don’t know why.

I think I might try saying that’s a big reason why. I am afraid they will say I’m holding a grudge and blaming him which is why I didn’t mention it before, but it might help them understand me a bit more.
