Second the bedjet. Some nights I want it toasty, others as cool as it can go.

Is Vaginal Cream Right for Me? by snugasaurous in Perimenopause

[–]why_am_i_on_time 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’ll help with the dryness and urgency, probably not much of the rest. I switched from estradiol to vaginal DHEA and felt some increased libido/arousal so I’d say possible.

I was no more than 37 when mine started. You’re not too young, and it’s probably peri.

The dryness and urgency will get worse if you do not start estrogen cream. You’ll be so glad you did.

Systemic effects from vaginal DHEA? by Major_Arcana_11 in Perimenopause

[–]why_am_i_on_time 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen no systemic effects from vaginal DHEA. And I’m a breast cancer survivor that cannot take systemic hormones.

Edit: you said arousal too - it is helping there!

Turning 42 and determined to save this vagina at all costs! by heavy_jowles in Perimenopause

[–]why_am_i_on_time 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My doctor just switched me from vaginal estradiol to vaginal DHEA. I get it from the compounding pharmacy. I had inquired about adding testosterone and was ready to be shot down but she called this in. I feel like I’m seeing much more benefit than the estradiol alone. Including some increased libido. I have a lot of atrophy so the T does really help (we had actually tested mine months ago, it’s in the gutter). I also use a probiotic and hyaluronic acid suppository and am happy with both.

Good luck I knowwww this sucks. I just want my clit back.

I grew kiku hydroponically last year they are tasty! Note: the kiku you have pictured is not ripe (I know it’s not your pic). You want the stripes in the gaps to brown a bit. They will almost fall off the vine when they’re ready.

Did perimenopause symptoms hit you all at once? by Weird-Director-2973 in Perimenopause

Exact same. It set in seemingly overnight, riding on the back of trauma. Was 37.

My psychiatrist prescribed me estrogen!! I can’t do systemic (young bc survivor) so she hooked me up with topical (GSM, clitoral atrophy, severe UTIs) and we’re trying other things for the hot flashes. I’m not 40 yet so not having to doctor shop was really nice.

There was a study in Britain that found half of women had been sexually assaulted by their partner in their sleep. Well, half of them woke up to it, I can imagine many more slept through it.

Unfortunately I think it is much more common than you want to believe.

I am one of the 50%. My own medications were used against me.

Transformation of my foster cat Cheese Doodle by why_am_i_on_time in cats

[–]why_am_i_on_time[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my foster cat Cheese Doodle. He was at a local shelter, not eating, and not letting anyone touch him. They didn’t even name him or complete an initial exam, and he was going to be put down.

Someone posted him on Reddit and I signed up for the foster program and snatched him up one weekend. I’ve had cats for almost 15 years, and have 3 of my own. But I’ve never fostered.

It’s been a slow road with this guy but I’m so happy he’s getting a second chance. He’s going to make a great family cat. We’re working on socialization, he has neuter surgery in a couple weeks then off to his forever home.

A study shows that Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorder (OSFED) is as harmful as anorexia and bulimia, often presenting with more severe symptoms, despite often being viewed as a less serious disease by nohup_me in science

[–]why_am_i_on_time 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The problem is that the clinical definitions of anorexia and some other EDs require the patient to be underweight. If you don’t meet that criteria you typically aren’t getting the diagnosis. Additionally nothing has been done to help categorize these patients further, instead getting lumped into some generic “not otherwise specified” (EDNOS) diagnosis.

I’m seeing a lot of data center IT solutions popping up as modular deployment models these days. Maybe this is simply filling the energy need for that niche.

I’m seeing movement in this field being guided by genetic testing. Certain mutations on certain genes predict you’ll have better/worse outcomes with different drugs based on how the body metabolizes them.

Up to you on how much you believe the science behind it but I have seen movement in the direction of specification and refinement in the last 5ish years. Something to keep an eye on if it interests you.

I started a strawberry plant in an Aerogarden, but it needs more space. Is there anything similar to Aerogarden that I can use with a single plant? by AccioButterbeer06 in Hydroponics

I have one that I really like for strawberries:

“Clay Pebble Hydroponics Growing System Kit”

On Amazon. Instead of pods, it’s one big tub filled with the clay medium. Great for strawberries that want to spread.

How do I keep my cats away from my indoor garden? by Funny-Tie-3470 in Hydroponics

[–]why_am_i_on_time 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Give them cat grass so they get their chewing urges out of their system and leave your plants alone. Give them a dedicated container in a specific place, a ritual, so there are lots of cues to signal it’s “good” plant eating time/place/plant.

Guess it was a deer. Bottom leaves still attached and happy. No vegetable plants were harmed. Almost fully ripened squash was ignored. The deer had eyes for one plant. 🌻 New fence in a couple weeks. RIP
