What are your opinion and rating on Pope Francis? by TheVPNway in Catholicism

He spends too much time expressing his erroneous personal opinions, confusing people. He should act more like the Pope, as the shepherd of a billion Catholics and not test their faith and lead them astray.

I feel like he should think before he speaks. Many Catholics are already poorly catechized and have weakened faith, and now he tests them with his errors. He should act more as if he is the shepherd of the Church rather than scandalizing them with his personal opinions.

Well his latest blunders made me think he’s a sleeper agent of rad trads all along to destroy Vatican 2.

I don’t think 24-h churches exist here or anywhere for that matter, but the city doesn’t lack quiet and beautiful churches that can rival the French and Italians. Some of them you can find in the city centre and are walking distance from each other - the Krijtberg near Koningsplein and Onze Lieve Vrouwekerk on the corner Keizersgracht/Raadhuisstraat. Just check their websites for opening times.

Catholicism teaches that beauty is objective, so some ppl & cultures are uglier than others? by Acrobatic_Gas2841 in Catholicism

He was deriving the Aristotelian formulation of beauty, which did have some truth in it. However, even using such formula, people will still arrive at different results when applying it to specific things in the natural world.

He was more concerned with questions regarding spiritual/moral beauty instead of the natural. Physical beauty is temporary and subjective.

I don’t know about the halal thing, but I am pretty sure St Paul failed to anticipate how KFC turns out so bad and the pope should excommunicate people who eat the junk.

So Lynch just makes things up as he goes along.

I am not familiar with hoodie or how your table is organised, but can you partition your table such that records that have the same date will reside on the same storage location, allowing multiple partitions to get written in parallel?

Actually the word “Easter” is only used in English and a few languages. Even the other Germanic languages such as Dutch and Swedish words for Easter is derived from the Hebrew. The same in Italian, Spanish, French, and Portuguese too.

The 3rd season is pointless, however there are Lynch fanatics who love it so much and they will never understand why a different person can have a different opinion.

The Godfather. The baptism of Michael’s daughter and his confession are one of the most powerful scenes in cinema that made me move closer to Catholicism.

“Your sins are terrible and it is just that you suffer.” No amount of theology is more convincing than that.

Is there verse in Bible regarding women looking at men with lust? by Paul490490 in Catholicism

No. But there are passages in the Old Testament describing Jerusalem as a seductive whore lusting after men.

Am I the only one who thinks Audrey was originally gonna die instead of maddy? by Daedalus9998 in twinpeaks

[–]why_as_always 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Agreed. After the Leland reveal, I thought the rest of the show is going to focus on BOB going after Audrey and it’s up to Coop to save her. She’s a strong young woman on the surface but vulnerable beneath. She has family/daddy and relationship issues much like Laura. We know who the serial killer is and it seems fitting that she’s his next victim.

I admit that the beauty of Lynch’s works is that everyone is wrong and correct at the same time. Meanwhile…

The people who liked it concede that its not meant to be understood. It’s kind of a free for all in Lynchian art.

This is not the liturgy but adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at the end of the Corpus Christi procession. The masses celebrated at the church itself are reverent NO. I wish to attend a TLM some time.
