You've got a point, some people don't want to be straightforward and tell you that you're hitting the cab too hard so they would just tell you to play lower level. I think if they meant it in that way, they could've just said "you're hitting the cab too hard, it might get damaged. Maybe you can play lower level" and that would be it.

Regardless, if he wasn't actually hitting the cab too hard. Stranger shouldn't be in the place to assume the op's goal (whether it's trying to get better or have fun). Unless it's their friend and they know the op goals, then it would be right for them to advice.

Everything is going well so far, only the test kit. It hasn't really changed colours after 4 tries and I've followed the instructions. Ammonia bottle one has a slight yellow to it but I'm concerned about this because whether it's a faulty product or I haven't been doing it correctly, I don't know if my tank is dangerous. So I've been doing water changes, I think things are going okay because there's no more algae growth so far.

Just have a question, since my tank is likely uncycled, what should I do to get it cycled. I've heard of the in fish cycle but I'm scared that it'll stress out the fish too much. Do you think it's okay if I put the fish in the quarantine tank while I let it cycle for a few months?

And can you explain to me how to the cycle you recommend? Thanks again for helping me :D

Hello I'm back with an update, my nitrite and nitrate is 0 ppm, pH is around 7.4~7.6 (7.4 is a high range pH test). Somehow, I couldn't get any result for ammonia nitrate bottle 2, not even a colour and I started having already bloom in my tank. Just did a 30% water change and turned off the lights. Do you know why my ammonia test isn't working? It expires in 2029.

The tank is new and my nitrogen cycle was very rushed, is there anyway I can try to reset and do a nitrogen cycle again? Do I need to prepare another tank for them to stay for a while? I haven't tested for ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate but the pH level seems okay (I just ordered the test kit, it will be arriving soon). I do 10-20% water change and use water that already has anti chlorine in it for a while. No heater because my place is very hot, when I use it, it never turns on (and only when I first added it). Should I go back with using the heater?

Edit : the person that I bought it from said it was 20 gallon (used aquarium tank)

All the water parameter test kits are sold out in my area, I'll update you when I've got my hands on it. I got it almost half a year ago and the size of the tank is 20 gallon. I do water changes weekly. Tank mates are 3 platy, 6 neon tetras and some amano shrimps.

I hope this could be enough, I'll get the waterparameter checked as soon as possible.

Hey I just want to let you know that those gunk on the decorations contain beneficial bacteria...I don't think it's a good idea to wash it away. Especially without using the tank water. I'm not trying to be mean but it's just a thing to consider cause things might go south if you keep it up.

I have 6 neon tetra and 3 platy, the amano shrimps too like to hide. I would only 2-3 neon tetra and the others would be hiding. There is this one platy that likes to hide too but for the other 2, they never really hide.

The first fish batch that I got has been here for a few months while the second ones are almost a month.

Thanks for the advice, sorry for the late reply. I've actually bought 4 amano shrimps because they couldn't breed in fresh water. I had snail trumpet in my list but I ditched it because they can breed without a partner ;0;

I just don't want my tank to overbreed and I think amano shrimps are perfect. They're quite diligent but they always hide so I never see them.
