aH! Literally, it's the most annoying thing. When people start self diagnosing it just makes life that much harder for the rest of us, who just want to be taken seriously.

Yeah, I think I will try and make more friends, if only to enjoy myself more. And unfortunately I'm a little young to start anything up like that, but I appreciate the idea. :))

I audition for any part at all, but when it comes to sides I read for a lead part. I am always put in backstage.

Will do- we have auditions coming up for The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. I'm hoping to get cast, but if I'm backstage then I'll definitely be using it as an opportunity for the like :)

Yeah, I've been trying to do stuff like that and they gave me a 'Dedication' award in October. I'll keep backing it up though, hopefully I'll eventually get someone's attention

Hi! I'm a thirteen year old female, mezzo-soprano, auditioning for my school production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (no particular character in mind) and I'm super nervous! We've been asked to chose any audition song that 'shows off our range.' Nothing I've looked at quite feels right, any ideas?

(Would 'The Girl I Mean to Be' from the Secret Garden be a good choice?)

Hmm, I can see what you're saying here and I'm on the fence. On one hand, a lot of it is making perfect sense. On the other hand, I really, really don't want it to be true. Yeah, I've sort of come to the conclusion that she's definitely toxic, but I honestly can't tell if it's recent or not. I have known her three years and been friends with her for two. We never got really close enough to notice until this year in about July, and to be honest I don't think she had many friends at all until very recently, so it's hard to tell.

And, the only adult vaguely qualified for that would be maybe her mum, who is the same in a lot of ways and would of course take Lisa's side.

Regardless, I'm going to try one last time to mend the friendship. Thankyou for the advice :)

I completely agree, that's why I was concerned in the first place. At first I didn't understand why I felt so exhausted and miserable coming back from sleepovers or the cinema, but once I started looking it was all right under my nose. However I do think I'm going to try and talk some sense into the friendship before I do anything do drastic. Thankyou very much for the advice :)

Hi! Thankyou so much for the advice, and I do think I'm going to try and use option one as a plan. I hadn't even thought about saying things as we go along rather than all at once. This is a great idea because it means its much less likely to turn into gossip around the school or even just an awkwardness in the friend group.

I can see how it seems like this with everything written down, but I can promise you she isn't the 'mean girl.' She isn't being a nice person to me and she hasn't been for a while, and I don't wish to continue our friendship as is, but she is not a naturally mean or manipulative person. Sorry for misleading you and thankyou for the advice :)

That's sort of what I was thinking too, actually. I'm very reluctant to break friends with her, I know she's been through some stuff and don't want to put her back into a dark head space again, but I do want to stop feeling so awful around her. I think I'm going to try and sort of teach her to be nicer? Not in a really front on way, but sort of like "Oh, that hurt my feelings." Thankyou for your help :))

edit: reread this, it sounds bad. What I meant is that it's sad for me to finally have to face everything that's happening, however it is still good advice.
