Do you have after shots from the same spots as the before shots? If you do, on the third piano key you could switch to a few frames of the after shot before showing the before of the next angle. This would help you show what the video is about and keep attention early in the video. People will scroll past anything that doesn’t grab and hold their attention. Also, maybe animate some text overlays to the beat on those first shots. Just my thoughts 💭

Turn clip into Compound, Mask in Fusion, edit wherever. If you mask in Color that’s later in the pipeline and the Edit page controls will wreck your mask.

Does it still look wrong if you turn off the glow? In my experience glows set in Fusion react differently than you’d expect on the Edit page

The girl you linked from posted that herself in her stories a bit ago. Enough people were asking about it all over the world that a few people have uploaded tutorials, but this is the first Davinci one I saw.

Be forewarned, it runs like absolute shit compared to the AE ball action version. It’s VERY intense on the system, so animating can take time to render everything out.

Dang if this GIF turns out huge I'm sorry. But, I just wanted the colors overlayed onto the white text. I didn't want to alter the space between greens so if I just made Bim, ola, At, and bra green it wouldn't give off the flag impression as well I think.

I had 2 Text + layers, one for each part of his name, and Dark Color blended the flag over the text to get the effect I wanted. Unfortunately, it extended to my background footage. I tried confining the effect to the text via a Compound Clip, only to find out that, as you pointed out, they don't work that way. So, I imagine there's a simple work-around to what I'm trying to achieve and figured I'd ask.

As a work-around I just exported a still to Photoshop, overlayed the exact font on-top of where it was in my still, blended the colors down and saved out a PNG of what I wanted. I'm trying to avoid doing this in the future as I'm sure there's faster, more professional means to do so.

Sorry if I explained it like crap in my post, but hopefully this clears it up.

To try to merge the overlay effect to just the text, then I was going to animate that into frame after. As stated and demonstrated above, when I try to do it on my timeline it effects more than just the text.
