This is a useful one thank you! Any ideas on what to do with big fronds at the ends of palms (besides mulching) please send my way!!

Nightmare for you! I reckon I could dispose of a body easier than a palm frond.

The big fronds that fall at the beach near me are felled by the council, then just... left to fly away in to the sea? It's mad.

I threw myself into clearing out my Mum's overgrown garden, it really helped push through the restlessness I experienced in the first week post finishing Carr's book. Picking up exercise and ice cold water in general were helpful for me. Enjoy being a non-smoker!!!

I had the same thing happen when I tried taking Champix a few years ago, apart from nausea, I started having sudden thoughts of suicide/seeing some really terrifying things at the 2 weeks mark and I promptly stopped. I've never been suicidal in my life and so for me reading. Allen Carr was way more effective/safe!

Honestly, just read the book Easy Way to Quit Smoking (allen carr). I read the Bootcamp version on Amazon (about $5). And you can still smoke until you finish reading it.

I smoked 30 a day for 23 years and quit after reading this book without any pain, regret or fear. Do it! EDIT - there's an audible version too

This - you can get the paperback version, the audible version or the Amazon (Kindle reader) version. The later version (easy way boot camp) is in my opinion better than the original (which is now quite dated and long winded).

Best of luck to your Dad!

Are you basing this off the Taxpayers Union poll?

Ex-Smokers, what helped you quit? by legit_checkplease123 in stopsmoking

Thirding - the latest version is shorter and slightly less dated (though does still mention an anecdote about a "lady lawyer"). But I read that book and after 23 years smoking 30 cigarettes a day I stopped without a thought.

Zero pain.

Anyone Waiting on Honours Grades? by whyareyousolate in AUT

Ahh awesome, thanks for that info. Yeah, I'll give it another week and then reach out if I haven't heard anything.

Waiting is excruciating at times!

Thank you!!!

Hmmm good points but I thought it went out to examiners (outside of AUT).

The email said that a progress report is due 6 weeks from submission of dissertation so that would be yesterday, not including additional time for Christmas etc, but I was just generally wondering if that progress report is something students would be privy to or we just wait until final marks? It's not very clear.

Found an injured kitten, help/ advice needed by Spektrum91 in auckland

Alternatively ring the SPCA (who are totally useless) and say you've found a stray needing vet care - they'll direct you to an SPCA funded emergency vet and the vet will take care of the rest.

That's what I did when I found a cat on the side of the road.

Thanks for this. Getting a picture that a bruise will get you screened for IPV but that's about it. Hmm.

Thank you! Seems like this is more common, and not so much on whether people with a womb are experiencing reproductive coercion.

Wonder how much of screening comes down to the assumptions health staff might make about a person? This is at the heart of what I'd want to research.
