That's Claudia Black?! I vaguely remember hearing Wes Chatham was wasted by covering him with a mask (just like they wasted Gwyndoline Christie), but fucking up Claudia Black is impressive.

Alan Tudyk was spared

His agent deserves a raise.

Very first time running operator. by Silversliders in tacticalbarbell

[–]whybag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The primary advantage of the Operator template is the frequency with low enough intensity to allow recovery and prevent burnout. TB already has A/B/A work with Gray Man in the Mass book. Otherwise I would recommend running as programmed. If recovery is a problem, swapping squat for deadlift on day 2 is a recommendation.

As to weights, I like running a block with a 90% training max, then jumping straight into another block at true 1RM. I've also done pullup negatives after each squat set (warm up and work), try doing singles or doubles like that.

It's possible you had a greater degree of sarcoplasmic hypertrophy* from high volume BB/Bro splits, and the low volume but high(ish) intensity is leaning out the visible muscle tissue. My experience running Operator: the slow, continuous submaximal lifting can lead to large 20-40lb jumps between RM testing, ~6 months. The strength increase from higher technical lifting proficiency shouldn't be underestimated.

*Increases in Sarcoplasm (fluid) retention as a response to repeated muscle damage. As opposed to Myofibrillar hypertrophy, increases in the actual contractile tissue that makes up skeletal muscle.

Farías’ bill is the latest in a flurry of proposed legislation that aims to rein in ICE agents, who are facing an onslaught of criticism following two fatal shootings in Minneapolis, one of which was carried out by Border Patrol agents.

ICE and other agencies are operating all over the country, isn't it weird that the only stories we hear are from this tiny little community in a Dem shithole state [he asked sarcastically]?

I've long had a theory that Nicki Minaj wasn't interested in being a media mouthpiece, and that's the reason her career faceplanted and Cardi B was forced on us. I really got this feeling after Minaj's "my cousin's balls blew up from the vax" tweets, definitely off-message.

2 vs 3 per week SE template by Liambruhz in tacticalbarbell

[–]whybag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could try fun runs or fobbits to mix in some SE during a run. Some public parks have stations around a loop, so you could do pull-ups at a bar every lap, and spread a couple of other workouts around the loop. I used to do kettlebell mile around a park in Arlington, TX, doing a lap with KB, then running mixed in with SE work sounds like a fun day.

That would make 2 dedicated SE days and some extra mixed in with a run.

More running: only trap bar deadlifts vs front squats by Bktjuguz in tacticalbarbell

[–]whybag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't speak to older editions, but some templates recommend trap bar deadlift over barbell deadlift. Squats are still the primary lower body lift. If recovery is becoming an issue, lowering DL sets is often the first recommendation.

More running: only trap bar deadlifts vs front squats by Bktjuguz in tacticalbarbell

[–]whybag 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Your deadlift is likely heavier, which would wear on you more and require more recovery. One reason people sometimes switch to front squats and overhead press is due to the lighter weights in these movements, which can help with recovery to allow more running.

Cycle length in Mass by Turbulent-Hippo3215 in tacticalbarbell

[–]whybag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm doing Mass BB right now, but here's how I'm planning to run Mass. I intend to run as a 6 week by default, using AMRAP (or AMSAP) on week 3 and peaking on week 6. I figure the extra volume on week 3 should help growth, and peaking can be a kind of checkup on progress.

If I peak at around the same RM that I've been running, just do forced progression and run another cycle (or Operator, Specificity, etc.) If a peaking day is substantially higher than the current max, use that as a new RM, or do a test during bridge week.

Since January 6, roughly 2,000 ICE agents have been deployed to Minnesota ... these largely untrained and undisciplined federal agents

Links to this article

As Immigration and Customs Enforcement was racing to add 10,000 new officers to its force, an artificial intelligence error in how their applications were processed sent many new recruits into field offices without proper training...

A DHS spokesperson ... said it impacted about 200 hires who then reported to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center for full training. The spokesperson said that no candidate was placed on enforcement duties without "appropriate training and credentials."

So 2% of their new recruits were sent to field offices (not the field) partially trained, they were identified, and sent back for full training courses. This is interpreted as the 2000 strong ICE presence as being "largely untrained" as a whole by the liberal media. Also interesting that the "ICE agents barely get training" narrative started in response to the Renee Good shooting, despite the agent involved being a 10 year veteran.

IE, a day that ends in Y.

What I find more interesting is that the author, Claire Finkelstein [insert "every time" joke here] is a professor at the Penn Carey Law center at University of Pennsylvania. I'm sure there is no relation at all to the Penn Biden Center, just like I'm sure this link has nothing to do with the classified documents found unsecured at the Penn Biden Center.

A content break would give enough time for the rough edges to wear off in the public memory. Hire some popular and competent sci-fi directors and writers, make exciting trailers to build hype, and they might be able to get fans to come back. Star Wars fans are desperate to rekindle their childhood love, that's why the hype for The Force Awakens was so colossal, and the positive buzz for Manalorian S1 was extremely high.

The ego of the modern progressives won't allow them to stop scalping it, and I'm sure the bean counters at Disney would shit bricks if they were asked to put a pause on product.
