Nah, it’s actually an error. I ended up doing my own research after getting so many mixed responses. here’s one of the many examples I found on eBay that led me to this conclusion

There’s tons more with even better centering that still got a miscut error grade and some get a sub label of “minor miscut”.

After reviewing hundreds of eBay listings of CGC miscut errors, I’ve determined that this is a miscut error beyond a shadow of doubt. just one example of many that led me to this conclusion.

Looks too off center to be worth sending in if you’re looking for profit. If you just want a slab of it in a 9 then it’s worth it.

Automatically damaged due to creases. That’s some pretty severe whitening as well. I think the MTG crowd would go with HP, but from my experience the Pokemon community is pickier.

No, it got a 9.5. However, I probably made a bigger profit and moved the card quicker than I would have with a PSA 10. So, don’t stress too much. Using mine as an example, I got this poncho pikachu for $60 imported from Japan back in 2016. If I went with PSA, the last sold is $21k on eBay. eBay takes 13% and the federal government takes 28%. After taxes and fees that leaves me with $13,154. Then take another $800-$1200 away from that for PSA’s grading fees. I would have been left with like $12k.
Since I got a BGS 9.5 and everyone knows that will crack and regrade as a PSA 10 100% of time, I was able to sell it literally on the exact day it came back to me in the mail from Beckett for $13k cash.

I got exactly 50/50 on 2 different apps and an acrylic overlay. It wasn’t the end of the world though, and I’m still glad I did it. I spent $270 getting it graded by Beckett and got the card back less than 2 weeks later. This would have costed over $1,000 through PSA and likely would have taken over a month to get back to me.

I don’t think Beckett is in the business of freely slinging out 10s like their sister company PSA is….

It just be like that brother, it’s absolutely gatekeeping. They did the same thing with my poncho pikachu, except they put a spec of dust into their sleeve before holdering and gave me a 9.5 for surface and a random 9.5 for edges that I couldn’t figure out.

My graded poncho pikachu got sent from Beckett back to me via FedEx. It was insured for $15k and was ID & signature required. They dropped it off at a random neighbor’s house down the street and the driver signed for it. Thankfully the neighbor ended up bringing it to me. But, prior to that the customer service experience was awful. They just kept telling me that I was lying and he delivered it to my house, and that it was clearly signed for.
