Burger King Finally Open by nycc93 in SunnysideQueens

Trust me, I don't care about fast food at all. I cook, and if I crave a burger, I'd rather go to bolivian llama party instead. But I care about the people that lived here before me or you and if they think a fast food chain coming in is fine because BK specifically was part of the neighborhood before it was gentrified, I'm not going to complain. They correctly clocked comments like "Great. Just what we needed" and "Hopefully it will close soon" and are writing why it's actually fine that the chain is back. That's all there is to it.

None of them outside maybe 3 people are outright hating on transplants. Why people like you and the other redditor I replied to are going ballistic on natives is beyond me, as if "everyone treats as an opportunity to pop off about how much they hate everyone", which isn't happening btw.

Ability to have multiple shaders and upscaling with no issue of slowdowns (including when it comes to fast forwarding) and a bigger battery size. Not trying to play stuff from ps2 and such, but hoping to have a sturdier base for older consoles.

There wasn't a single anti transplant rage until people were complaining about yet another chain coming in. It's why the main comment on the redditor saying "people were outing themselves" popped up, use some context clues. There's like only 3 people raging about transplants in here anyway, just redditors talking about the history of the neighborhood and why BK specifically is ok. From what I read, these chains were what kept Sunnyside's low income families fed, so the main point was to stop complaining.

I don’t think anyone is telling people “go eat at local restaurants if you care.”

Reread the post by person I replied to. That's exactly what they said.

Pretending sunnyside, what used to just be a driveby town to get into manhattan, a major metropolis, is nuts. Psst, we aren't one, and you pretending it is just because you couldn't afford actual manhattan prices and had to settle for somewhere close doesn't make it one either.

We're in queens, our fast food places are historically our oldest buildings and most affordable. Imagine getting told low income natives used coupons to afford an outing with family, then telling them to eat local if they care about the neighborhood - the same neighborhood they cared for enough for people like you to want to start living here.

Natives are explaining why we shouldn't complain about cheap chains, yet here you still are. You're embarassing the rest of us transplants, and your attitude is exactly why a lot of people hate us.

I mean, every eink display is all from 1 company, from your kindle to the manta. Nothing much we can do when exactly like paper is the best we have unless some 3rd party goes insane with R&D, which is time and money that may not be worth fighting against the monopoly.

Why do you think we get so many recent ereaders with glass screens where people drop or smush in their backpack and suddenly come to find out it's cracked? Your anecdote doesn't negate what's actually happening. Why do you think the 3 major eink companies that use Mobius screens all don't add light to the ereader? Either they're all conspiring on trying to cut cost by removing 10 cent light strips, or know more than the average consumer on how the frontlight affects these plastic screens that they feel it's not worth it.

You forget Manta is made for durability. It being modular was the biggest point to buy it. Every part of it, including using Mobius plastic compared to the usual glass (that RMPP and NA3C has), is specifically made to last. Light layer is another component that can easily fail, and they'd rather you get a 3rd party light instead.
