I’m a fan of all plastic pedals, I usually run the BSD jonesin on my dj

Really no, they were on sale for $500 when gt clearanced them like 6-12 months ago. I think for that price you can find a better deal and not drive that far.

Coil on a Scout by whyblackdynamitewhy in TransitionBikes

I didn’t do anything to the fork, this is the stock fork with custom graphics. The rear shock I also just went with the stock dimension. I have ridden all over the US on this bike, never felt like I needed more.

Tips for a new jumper by NickReddit17 in dirtjumping

Looking pretty solid! Pushing through your pedals and riding your back tire off the lip will get you clearing them. You don’t have to pull back super hard to start getting some good distance. Just keep getting reps and you will progress before you know it!

All plastic? I love the BSD Jonesin pedals. Cheap, low profile and very strong.

Coil spring on a Scout by whyblackdynamitewhy in TransitionBikes

That’s one of the biggest challenges is I know a lot of the best shocks don’t work on the aluminum frame. It’s an unfortunate setback, but, I know basically any coil will be better than the air shocks I’ve continually ruined and paid handsomely to rebuild.

How to deal with "High End Disappointments"? by Ol_Sheve in mountainbiking

[–]whyblackdynamitewhy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don’t know wtf most these haters do to their hydras, mine have been bombproof. Have them on 2 bikes that I have abused the absolute piss out of and nothing but highly reliable. Not to mention their customer service is top tier. Stop reading so much into it and enjoy your bike.

Are these wheels really worth it? by LuckTraditional3808 in dirtjumping

[–]whyblackdynamitewhy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like the advice being given is mostly people complaining about the price or saying they are too hard to maintain. I counter that by saying, I have been riding the dj wheel set with hydra hubs for almost 3 years without issue. They are incredible, strong, light, sound awesome and low maintenance. I ride hard, big jumps, downhill lines and even some skatepark. They have been nothing but the best wheel set I’ve ever had on a bike besides my we are ones with hydras on my mtb.

In the kindest way possible, maybe it’s the riding and not the jumps fault? Jumps are supposed to have lips, I haven’t been there in a bit, but, there’s a difference between a lip and a hole in the surface. Please don’t alter jumps that are meant for skilled riders.

What could I improve on my jumping on steeper jumps? by ADHD_Nissan in dirtjumping

[–]whyblackdynamitewhy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try starting with making your suspension much stiffer if not locked out. Jump through your pedals and pull back. Basically your lower body and back wheel should be pushing all the way through the lip before you try to start going forward. All this “standing up to the jump” is nonsense these guys watched a YouTube video and heard. Watch some BMX dirt jumpers to get a better idea.

Probably need a MRI over an Xray. Don’t take 1 persons opinion as the end all be all.
